Awesome TV
on November 19, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let's just get straight to the point: the LG C5 is exactly what you expect from LG's mid-range OLED—which is to say, it’s brilliant. If you’re upgrading from an older LED or even a few-year-old OLED, you’ll notice the difference immediately. That perfect, inky black level that only OLED can deliver is as stunning as ever, but LG has clearly kept pushing the brightness. While it’s not quite the sun-gun that the high-end G5 is, the C5 is definitely bright enough to make HDR content truly pop, even in a moderately lit room.
The picture quality is simply beautiful. Colors are rich and accurate, and thanks to the new Alpha 9 Gen 8 processor, motion handling is incredibly smooth. Watching a 4K movie in Filmmaker Mode (with Dolby Vision, naturally) feels like getting a private screening. The sense of depth and contrast is just unbeatable at this price point.
Where the C5 truly shines is for gamers. With four full HDMI 2.1 ports, 144Hz VRR support, G-Sync, and an absurdly fast 0.1ms response time, this thing is future-proofed for the fastest PC and console gaming. If you own an Xbox Series X and want to take advantage of Dolby Vision Gaming, the C5 is a no-brainer. Everything is crisp, tear-free, and buttery smooth.
Now for the few gripes. Firstly, if you're getting the smaller 42-inch or 48-inch models, you lose the full Brightness Booster technology and the anti-glare screen found in the 55-inch and up versions. That's a real shame for desktop users or those with smaller, brighter rooms. Secondly, the new remote design feels like a step backward. It's slimmer, but they moved the dedicated mute button to a long press on the volume rocker, which is just annoying when you need silence right now. Finally, while the WebOS smart platform is comprehensive, the push toward more AI features and a few intrusive home screen ads is a distraction on a premium television. You can disable the ads, thankfully, but it shouldn's be a thing in the first place.
The Verdict: The LG C5 is the sweet spot in the OLED market. It delivers flagship picture quality and unmatched gaming performance. If you can stretch your budget for the 55-inch or larger size to get the full brightness boost, this is a TV that will absolutely dominate your living room entertainment for years to come.

Great picture but ARC issues and hdmi1 issue

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Picture is amazing, but not light years better than my 2018 b8 oled like I was expecting. Definitely much brighter though.
Main issue is the TV usually starts with the TV speakers everytime when I want it to use the ARC audio to my receiver.
Also hdmi1 video was flickering with my fire TV cube but not on hdmi3. My switch seems to work fine on hdmi1 so not sure what to think.
Response from lg.comBy ^RichLG Digital Care TeamDecember 3, 2025
Hi there, thank you for sharing your experience with the LG OLED77C5PUA. We’re glad to hear the brighter picture quality has impressed you compared to your previous OLED. For the ARC audio issue, we recommend checking the Sound Out settings in Settings > Sound > Sound Out and ensuring HDMI ARC/eARC is selected as default. For the HDMI flicker, try swapping cables or ports, as some devices perform better on specific inputs. You can also review our step‑by‑step guide here: LG TV WebOS Settings Menu. If the issue continues, please email lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com for further support.

Stunning OLED once you disable Energy Saving
on November 21, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The OLED77C5PUA delivers incredible picture quality, deep blacks, and excellent HDR once it’s set up correctly. Out of the box it can look dim because “Energy Saving Auto” is enabled — turn that off and the panel becomes much brighter. Movies in HDR and Dolby Vision look amazing, and gaming at 4K 120Hz/144Hz is smooth with almost zero input lag.
Not the brightest TV for very sunny rooms, but overall one of the best OLEDs for both movies and gaming.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ LG 83” C5 OLED AMAZING
on November 21, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The LG 83” C5 OLED is an absolute monster of a TV and one of the best displays you can get in 2025 for the money. The picture quality is exactly what you’d expect from LG’s latest OLED panel—deep blacks, perfect contrast, zero blooming, and extremely smooth motion. HDR looks incredible thanks to its higher brightness this year, and Dolby Vision content really pops.
Even in a brighter room with windows, the C5 holds up better than older OLEDs. Reflection handling is improved, and the extra brightness is enough to keep the picture from looking washed out during the day (though Mini-LED sets still get brighter overall).
Gaming performance is flawless: 4K 120Hz/144Hz support, extremely low input lag, VRR, ALLM, and excellent HDR gaming. It’s basically a top-tier gaming display if you have an Xbox Series X, PS5, or a PC.
The 83” size is where this TV really shines—massive, cinematic, and totally immersive. If you sit 10–14 feet away, this size is perfect.

83 inch - best oled

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this TV with the soundbar bonus offer a few weeks before Black Friday, upgrading from my 65” C3. The improvement is clear, the display is brighter, colors pop more vividly, and overall clarity feels more refined. The SC9S soundbar that came with it genuinely enhances the experience; the soundstage is rich, dialogue is crisp, and bass feels punchy without being overbearing. Gaming also looks incredible, smooth motion, vibrant HDR, and near-zero input lag make it an absolute pleasure for next-gen consoles.
Overall, it’s a strong and worthwhile upgrade, stunning visuals, excellent sound integration, and outstanding performance for movies and gaming, with just a few small areas where LG could refine the user experience.

Knowing the smooth motion, HDR vibrancy, and near‑zero input lag enhance next‑gen gaming highlights the strength of this setup. For any additional support, feel free to DM us at @LGUSSupport.

From 1080P 55 to 4K C5 77

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I decided to upgrade my 10-year-old TV setup to catch up on 4K and get more size. My room dimensions are 14x22ft and we sit about 10 feet from the TV. The 77-inch size is perfect for that configuration.
Setup was easy. The Ethernet port was nice for hooking the TV directly into the network, although wifi would have also been fine. The smart apps and home setup work well and the processor seems sufficiently quick that app launches and updates are smooth and don't feel underpowered in any way. Depending on your firewall you may need to allow access to some sites to get app and firmware updates to work, otherwise you will run into -102 (connectivity) and -202 (certificate) errors.
The default settings had the classic soap opera effect which I was quick to update. Once that was resolved the TV was exceptional. We don't deal with a lot of glare in our room setup so I can't comment on that, but the picture was fantastic for our purposes.
ARC setup worked well to drive audio back into our receiver. TV sound quality seemed fine, although I think for a TV like this you will get the most out of it with a receiver+speaker setup.
I saw some concerns about the remote but honestly it worked very well for us. I will be ditching our universal remote and Roku as the TV covers both well. I do wish the buttons were backlit. That feels like a miss for a TV at this price point.
All in all I was very happy with the TV. Unboxing through setup were smooth and movies shine on this display. Highly Recommended.

Hi there, thank you for sharing your detailed experience with the LG OLED77C5PUA. It’s great to hear the 77‑inch size fits your room perfectly and that setup was smooth. If you encounter connectivity errors like -102 or -202, try these steps first:
• Ensure the TV is connected directly to your router via Ethernet or a strong Wi‑Fi signal.
• Restart both your TV and router to refresh the connection.
• Check that your firewall allows access for LG apps and firmware updates.
