I am thrilled that Dyson finally made a lighter, more compact, dual voltage dryer- and I love it!
I am a curly girl and use this new dryer with the magnetic diffuser from my original Dyson Supersonic (hint to Dyson- make the diffuser an optional attachment).
They say this new version is 25% lighter but it feels WAY LIGHTER than that- and there’s no power brick which reduces the weight further. It is super compact and fits nicely between the bars inside my carryon. There are fewer speed and heat attachments on this mini version- but I never went uber-hot or on the highest fan- so it works perfectly for me. I could not be happier. It’s by far the best compact dryer for curly girls I’ve ever tried (and that is saying something). I haven’t tried it abroad yet- but am so excited that I can finally bring a dryer that works on my curls when I travel.

I bought this for travel with the hope that it would be easier to pack than my regular Dyson hairdryer. This smaller size fits perfectly in my carry-on bag while leaving plenty of room for clothes. It’s light but powerful so my hair dries in no time. I recommend it highly if you, too, always bring your Dyson when traveling.

So not buy this if you want to dry your hair. I was so excited to have a travel dyson since my air wrap is only compatible with US standards. However the power of the travel product is weak and my hair remained damp after a long time.

This dryer is perfect for traveling. It doesn’t get as hot as the regular Dyson but I think that’s a good thing and it’s so cute!

I bought this a month ago and have used it a handful of times. The power is great! It’s quiet, dries my hair quickly and the weight and handle are easy on my wrist. I use it with the original diffuser which clicks right in magnetically. I also own the original Dyson hairdryer and bought this one for my second home and travel. It is not exactly as beefy in power as the original…but a very very very close runner up. If I didn’t own the original, I wouldn’t know the difference. I’m looking forward to traveling with it…hope it doesn’t prove to be too bulky—we shall see.
