MOTHER APPROVED Christmas gift

My mom's old LG LCD TV was going out, so I ordered this for her for Christmas. She went from a 37 inch TV to a 40 inch LED TV that actually has a slightly smaller footprint. The picture is much brighter and cleared. She is very happy with it so it is a good thing. ANYTHING MOTHER APPROVED MUST BE GOOD.
If mother is happy the rest of us are happy :)
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, footprint size, screen size, thin bezel

This is an excellent TV. I would have liked to have one or two more HDMI ports. I am otherwise very satisfied with it

Easy Set Up for Non Techies. Small Frame. Dolby Digital Surround Sound.

Picture quality is superb. My only concern is the sound control. Volume control goes from 0 to 100 (I think). Normal listening level is in the 8 to 15 range, but I find I have to constantly 'fine-tune' volume during a show. Also, I have a problem that volume will, for no reason, decrease to a low volume and then increase back on its own over maybe 10- 20 seconds. I've tried Auto-volume ON and OFF - no change. I've also installed latest firmware. Possibly a problem with my cable box??? Time-Warner Cable

Cons: volume control

40" 6000 series TV

Not a lot of bells and whistles on this, but I knew that going in. Great picture, good sound. I did a software upgrade right off and found it very easy to do. Off air HDTV reception is very good. Setting up the TV out of the box was very easy to do. TV walked me through the steps very logically. User's manual is a bit skimpy.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color

Overall, a great TV with amazing picture! Some people have complained about its lack of inputs, but using an AVR(A/V receiver), like I do, would solve any problems. An AVR will yield the best control and sound of your components anyways. On the positive side, this Samsung has plenty of features to tweak the picture to your preference: Contrast, Backlight, Sharpness, Auto Motion Plus, LED Motion Plus, Color Tone, Gamma are just to name a few! When I'm not using the AVR, the TV sound does the job(Basic EQ, SRS Surround, etc). So if you plan to use an AVR or only have a component or two, then I would HIGHLY recommend this TV!

Cons: only a handful of inputs
