This means your compressor reacts quickly to temperature fluctuations and circulates cold air based on your use and room temperature. These are high-efficiency compressors and may have a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound. It is a normal sound. I love the door shelves and how they don't allow things to fall through. For a smaller fridge it feels big and roomie on the inside. My food is cold cold. I am very pleased with this fridge.

Regarding the unit running frequently, it is normal for the compressor to go on and off frequently. Also, refrigerators work longer when the room or outside weather is too warm or hot. Opening the refrigerator doors too frequently or too long allows warm air to enter the product and therefore causes it to run more often.
