Excellent fridge design!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We used this Whrilpool to replace an LG that kept breaking down. They are the same size outside, but the Whirlpool holds FAR more and is much more spacious inside. So far we love it.

Don’t buy

We bought this fridge two months ago and now it has randomly started shooting water out of the water dispenser when you are nowhere near the fridge. Goes off every hour. It Has warped my hardware floors. This refrigerator is complete garbage. Do not buy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have the same experience that another person has that bought this new mode in January. The ice dispenser is HORRIBLE and unfortunately I like ice in my drinks/water!. It freezers up clogging the shoot and then the cubes fall all over the hard wood floor leaving a puddle! The ice crusher barely works as that clogs up as well and just makes a motor roaring sound. I am so disappointed in this as the rest of the frig is nice but this key aspect is really bad. At least once if not twice a week I have to open up the ice dispenser to clear it or try to make it function properly.

Clearing Clogs: If the bin or chute is currently blocked, carefully use a plastic utensil to remove the ice.
Thorough Wipe Down: Clean the ice delivery chute and the bottom of the storage bin with a warm, damp cloth, ensuring you dry the area completely afterward.

Inferior model WRFC5036RW

This is a 2026 model, the owners manual for this model # does not match the unit. I can not turn off ice because there is no switch as stated in manual. I can not lock water because there is no LOCK button. If I place produce in the bottom draw it freezes, I keep the temp on 39. The repair guy has been here 3 times and he said with only one condenser this unit is inferior. Forget about calling Whirpool service, they will keep you on hold forever that is why I am trying to get help here.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

To turn off the ice maker in the refrigerator door, you would turn it off using HMI. The ice maker in the refrigerator’s left door is ON by default when you receive the product. To Turn the In-Door Ice Maker OFF: � Press and hold the Water dispense button and the Refrigerator button at the same time for 3 seconds.

Some pros and some cons

Brand-new fridge is nice looking. The binnacles and door-accessible ice compartment are nifty. The layout of the shelves is fine, though they would be a lot better if the ones on one side could be accessed by opening the door on that same side.
The workmanship is not nearly as good as it should be -- several of the joints are not flush, so much so that insulation foam is sticking out a bit. And the tube running from the water inlet up to the dispenser is not tied down firmly to the rear panel so it's plainly visible from the side, as though they could only afford to use three little brackets instead of five.
And I'll be damned if I can figure out how to turn off the ice maker from the control panel -- the instructions in the manual do not work. Why is there not a simple on/off button there?
