Hi,
I am very sorry to hear about the printing getting light after such a short time. Perhaps we can remedy this though.
It might be that the cartridge needs cleaning. If it does, that is a pretty easy process. Your printer should have an automatic routine to do that. Check the user guide, if you don't know how to start the cleaning.
If that helps, the printer might have been turned off using a power strip or switch. The printer should always be turned off using the power button on the printer itself. That will let the printer 'park' itself so that the cartridges are protected from excess drying. The drying can cause clogs to form in the tiny nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper.
If that does not help (it might have to be repeated to work well), then it might just have been a defective cartridge. If so, please contact our product support team at 1-800-474-6836 Mon - Fri 8 AM - 9 PM (ET) Sat - Sun 8 AM - 9 PM (ET).
Always satisfied with the quality and longevity of HP ink cartridges in my HP printers. I could find other non-HP cartridges, but for the small difference in price, I have never been satisfied.
I have purchased ink from office supply stores and even though they said on the package that they were HP ink, when I tried to install them, my printer refused to accept it. Since then I only buy my ink directly from you. I get great quality and my cartridges last a long time.
