I apologize the cartridge malfunctioned. That is not the result we hope for our customers. Do you have more details? If you can provide more information to HP, we would like to help you.
If I had to guess what the problem entails, there is a clog in the cartridge. If so, try to clean the printhead. Gently tapping the cartridge over a towel can unclog the cartridge.

What can one say about ink ? It is working. My concern will be if it in fact gives printing of as many pages as it claims. Have had other HP ink purchases that DID Not do so.

Most of my documents are printed in black ink - not color. I buy the 61 XL which is more economical for the amount of printing I do. Most important is the vibrancy of the ink which makes the document easy to read.
