I am convinced that the only ink to use in an HP printer is genuine HP ink. My printer has run just fine for years. Love the XL cartridges b/c extra value.
I have really found not much difference in the XL ink cartridges. It’s extremely frustrating at how often i need to stop and change cartridges!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi,
I'm sorry that you didn't have a good experience with the cartridges you were sent. It is no wonder that you are frustrated.
Ink usage of the cartridge will determine how long it lasts in your printer (unless it was damaged or defective). High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the air is dry.
Here are some things that might help lower your ink usage: - Make use of the printer's draft mode whenever possible, to help stretch out black, and colored ink - Shut the printer down between uses; however, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying. - Consider getting Instant Ink. The subscription plans let you pay by the page. Check out the details at: instantink.com
If it appears that poor performance is due to a defect, please return them. The return and exchange process is covered, step-by-step, at: store.hp.com/us/en/cv/returnsandexchanges
I haven't used the printer inks in this order of black and multicolor ink, however I've always been pleased with the ease of ordering, the price, quality and quick delivery. It is HP and you can't go wrong. A recycle bag is also enclosed which makes recycling old cartridges easy.
