Very Cool and useful tool

This gimbal is very good but it is not made for heavy phones. I use a Samsung Z Fold 4 and my phone does give its motors a very hard time. The gimbal often shuts off stating, " phone is imbalanced" but it's actually the weight of the phone that makes it unstable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A Game-Changer for Mobile Creators

I’ve been using the DJI Osmo Mobile 8 Smartphone Gimbal Stabilizer for about a week, and the experience has been excellent. The stabilization is incredibly smooth, making handheld shots look professional. The tracking is very reliable and follows the subject seamlessly during movement. The variety of shooting modes is a big plus and adds a lot of creative flexibility. The built-in light is a great bonus, especially for content creators and vloggers who often shoot in different lighting conditions. Overall, it’s a solid and versatile gimbal for mobile video creation.

Unit doesn’t work without good data

Unit worked great at home. Took it the mountain to record. Without good reception the unit did not work. I could not connect my phone to the gimbal. Tried 10 times and gave up. Phone would see the gimbal but could not connect. Returned unit
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I use it 100% recreationally - filming my kids play sports (iPhone 17pro) and multi day hikes. I originally had the 7p gimbal. I do think this 8 is worth it.
