Extremely Disappointed!

I purchased my 5 speed hand mixer several years ago, however I seldom use it. I am sure I have not used it more than two dozen times in the time I've owned it. I have a KA stand mixer that I use several times a week. Today the button that controls the speed of the hand mixer broke. It will only mix on high speed and the only way to turn it off is to unplug it. I called KA for assistance and was told that the manufacturer's warranty was only good for 1 year. While the person I spoke with was very polite, she was not at all helpful, could not recommend any place to service my appliance, and told me if I had other concerns that I could call back. I am so disappointed that this mixer broke after so few uses. I bought it to replace a previous KA hand mixer that was probably 15-20 years old and I used that one all the time as I didn't own a stand mixer at that time. I've always believed KA is the best brand out there and this is making me question if I want to continue to invest in their products.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What a disappointment!

I had just received my first KitchenAid stand mixer and decided to “upgrade” my hand mixer as well. After using no more than 5 times the hand mixer now has two speeds - unplugged and high. The only way to turn the mixer on is to plug it in, (it is stuck on high and can’t be changed), when I want to turn it off, I have to unplug it. Terrible purchase!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great features

I bought this maybe a month ago and I am so glad I did it help baking so much easier and faster the locking cord helps out as well so the cord doesn’t get in the way. Definitely a product needed if you bake a lot.

I purchased this about 8 months ago, and used it probably less than ten times before one of the beaters broke. The whisk ends were not even permanently attached to the insert parts. They just go into holes. I am also disappointed in its power. Much weaker than cheapie brands. I called the customer service line to see if I could get a replacement beater and got nowhere, could not even get to a person before the automated call just hung up on me. Really disgusted that not only did it break, but I couldn't even get a hold of customer service. I am NOT replacing the beaters at my expense. I would rather buy a different brand mixer.

A Fantastic Mixer

This is closest to what I bought, nearly 27 years ago! I used it maybe once or twice a week, for a family of six, all this time. It finally gave out. I didn’t know if it would ever die. It did absolutely everything I needed it to do.. cakes, cookies, whipped creams, hotcakes,… Just a few weeks ago, I was making cookies, it stopped working. 27 years!! It’s a wonderful quality mixer. It had a good home, and I/we loved it. Buy quality!!

I’ve had a KitchenAid 5-speed hand mixer for over 7 years and I cannot complain. Does it’s job, affordable and space efficient. Love this product.
