[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We like the stove, but the reason I gave it 3 stars, is because when you first turn the oven on, you can smell gas. The smell goes away after a few minutes. I don’t think this is normal.

We completely understand your concern regarding the smell of gas when first turning on the oven. It’s understandable to feel uneasy about this, as safety is always a top priority. In many cases, a faint odor may occur when the burners ignite for the first time due to the burning off of residual manufacturing oils, but it should dissipate quickly. That said, if the smell is strong, persistent, or causes concern, we strongly recommend having a certified technician inspect your stove to ensure everything is functioning safely and correctly.

Gas stove

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased due to the esthetics. Looks very high end. Easy to install. First gas oven in 26 years. I was very 3xcited to be cooking on natural gas again. The only thing, that startles me about it, is the "poof" sound when the oven kicks on. It hisses when first turned on for a few seconds, then it finally kicks on. I don't remember my previous gas stove doing that. I do love the ability to control the temperature better.

The initial “poof” and hissing sound you mentioned is normal for gas ovens as the igniter lights and the burners establish a flame. We understand it can be surprising if you’re not used to it, but it’s a standard part of safe gas operation.

Attractive range
