Gas range stove

New gas oven yay

Ear Plugs, Oven Mitts & Oven-control Panel

The function of the burners and oven is very good. However, the following issues combine to lower the score.
1. The sounds to indicate the oven has reached its temperature and the timer has finished are so loud and high-pitched I have considered obtaining a meter to measure the decibels. My ears HURT when I am standing next to the stove. I do not have hearing aids, but when it becomes necessary I will wonder if the range had something to do with it.
2. I shouldn't need oven mitts to adjust the burner controls when the oven is on. How good is the insulation on the knobs?
3. The design of the oven control panel could be improved by making the lines between the words thicker so that it is obvious that the second row of words does NOT apply to the icons below the words.
4. The back wall of the storage drawer is so shallow that the drawer must be closed VERY gently or else the baking sheets slide out the back.
5. The paint finish on the burner grids is so thin that is is already wearing off. What is a good paint to spray onto the grids?
