Bought for my son to replace one he’d had for a couple of years. That one had started to come apart at the phone end of the cable. He is quite happy with his new one, as he had been with its predecessor.

good sound and selection of buds make them stick in your ear even on a tough gym session - and you need good quality sound to get you through the effort!

Clear Soundstage but Weak Bass Response

After using standard iPhone wired earpods for years I bought the CX-80s thinking it would elevate the musicality of the jazz I listen to from my local radio station. While it has a clearer soundstage than the earpods in that the definition of various instruments is cleaner, the earpods beat these hands down in terms of how mellow and musical they are and how much better their low end response is. Switching back and forth between the two, the CX-80 sound borders on the tinny. I tried connecting them through a Geek out headphone booster thinking there might be an impedance mismatch issue here but it didn't help.
Disappointing for me because I have other Sennheiser over the ear lightweight headphones which are excellent. I won't return these but I may end up using these for podcasts and the earpods for music...the opposite of what I had intended.
