Good phone but nothing overwhelming.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a die-hard Samsung fan. I’ve gone through many of their Galaxy lines, especially the Fold series, over the years. The trade-in deals are amazing and have pretty much motivated me to upgrade again and again every time a new phone comes out.
About 10 years ago, upgrading to a new phone really felt like a big jump. You could clearly notice new features and meaningful hardware improvements. Over time, though, that feeling has kind of faded. There aren’t many major improvements from last year’s model anymore, aside from software tweaks.
“Galaxy AI” sounds great, but at the end of the day, it’s mostly just a software update. It makes it feel like I’ve been using essentially the same device for the past couple of years. The screen privacy mode is a nice addition, and I think a lot of people will use it, but it still doesn’t bring back that “new phone” excitement we used to get a few years ago.
I use all the features on my phone, so removing things like the S Pen electronics (in certain models) is, in my opinion, not acceptable when you’re buying a new product.
That said, it’s still an excellent phone. Samsung continues to deliver feature-packed devices that run smoothly, and their software updates are solid overall. I just wish we could see more meaningful innovation again, especially on the hardware side, and catch up to some of the features available in other countries.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra feels modern
