[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall an extremely mediocre device.
The privacy display seemed like a great invention, especially since it can be turned off and on at anytime. The basic privacy screen mode is mediocre as it can still be viewed relatively easily on the sides, but it still keeps the nice colors on the s26 ultra. Maximum privacy makes the screen extremely grey but makes it almost impossible to see from a certain angle. It does cause quite a bit of eye strain when using for extended periods of time.
The jump from 45W to 60W is a noticeable improvement from older generation devices, charging slightly quicker. The battery life is also basically the same. I would have expected the s26 ultra to have a larger battery this year and also faster charging before, as competitors had this many years ago.
The camera quality is also very similar to its predecessor, but apparently captures more light than before. It has issues with focusing after 5x zoom at a certain distance range, making the image incredibly blurry. This was said to be a worse alop sensor. The 3x-5x zoom is okayish at certain scenes, but makes the image very grey at other places. For night pictures, it is amazing, especially in low light (refer to picture below) Other than that, the camera is overall an acceptable step up from its last gen, especially switching from my Asus ROG 6.
Performance obviously is the top its league, as it uses the new snapdragon chip. Mostly smooth with some stutters but again, it uses the newest chip, so I can't complain.
Feels like a pretty solid device, although it is pretty heavy for most users, but I don't mind. The camera bump is much larger this year, which is extremely annoying, as when flat on a surface, it moves up and down when using it. Feels pretty durable, though the recent durability tests are pretty good I would say. Most people use a case, so it shouldn't an issue.
The starting price is absolutely ridiculous, though there are discounts and trade in boosts, but still relatively expensive for the average user.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Quick Review of theS26 Ultra

I recently upgraded to a S26 Ultra from a Samsung Flip 5. Although I like my Flip 5, these old eyes are not getting younger, so the larger screen is VERY welcomed! The color and clarity of the screen is absolutely stunning. I already had to use the new privacy screen feature to keep a nosey seat mate on a recent flight from seeing my texts, as well as blocking out every password I needed to type in to my banking apps.
Also, compared to my Flip 5, charging is lightening quick! I can get this phone from 40% to 80+ in literally minutes!!! This makes uSing the phone during travel a no worry situation, since I can gain large percentage of power during a short layover.
Another feature I am loving is the new camera. Not only do I have a wider lense, but the zoom is amazing at up to 100 times zoom. AI features allow me to make shots of my friends, hilarious. I can take any other picture and correct issues or even remove people from the shot.
The additional AI features allow me to add quick appointments from text messages as well as prepare for sleep by getting my evening brief, that also includes a rundown of the days headlines.
Overall, this phone blows me away, and I'm very glad I made the update!
