Dont buy it yet!

I have owned Samsung phones for over 10 years. And have always enjoyed them. But this release has been non stop issues with software and the Google RCS messages that has replaced Samsung messages. With all of the newer AI features that if you aren't paying attention will cause various bugs and glitches. I personally believe this model should have went through more testing before they released it. My phone has been replaced once already and it was only 14 days old. I wouldn't recommend this phone to my family or friends at this time. Samsung needs to reevaluate this phone and provide some patch updates to stabilize the over all user experience.

Super Disappointing

Honestly, I've only been using it for 2 days and am already regretting this purchase, and I am dreading being locked into paying for this phone now for 3 years. I had the S20 Ultra for 6 years with zero problems. I figured it was time to upgrade and get better camera quality before my old phone was completely outdated. What a mistake!!
For starters, the Vibrate function is basically non-existent. My phone sits on my desk 3 inches from me, and I can't hear the vibrate at all - even on the highest intensity. So I basically now have Silent mode or a Ringtone. Extremely frustrating.
Secondly, most of the reason I liked the Ultra with the S-pen was because you could use the pen on the S20 to trigger the camera for selfies. And for some reason they took that function away on the S26 ?!? Why ?!? Now my option is to hold my palm up at the camera for each shot ??? What ???
And then thirdly, now if you use the object erase feature when editing a photo, it automatically puts a watermark on your photo that says "AI Generated Content". uhhhh..... again..... what?!? Because I removed my dogs leash from a photo ? or something distracting in the background? now there's a watermark on the photo that I took ? You can't be serious.
Listen - I knew I was going to be disappointed that there was no longer a removable micro-SD card. But I assumed that everything else about this phone would be an upgrade after waiting 6 years - and it feels like a downgrade so far. I wish I had just stayed with my S20 and found something else. I can't believe that so many things have gone backwards already in only 48 hours of use. I've always been a loud and proud Samsung supporter - but I don't know after this.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best Phone Upgrade Ever

I absolutely love this phone. I was really hesitant to buy a new phone, specially one that just came in, mainly because I tend to keep my phones until they're on their last breath. However, my previous phone started to glitch and turn off constantly, which is what made me purchase this new one. If you get an offer to buy the Ultra version, I can tell you that it's completely wonderful. The whole display, camera, battery and performance is just a whole new experience. I have to clarify that my previous phone was a S22, so it's a huge jump, and I'm obviously pointing out the differences I noticed. If you have the S25, I heard it's not really much of a difference, but if you are in the same situation I was and you were hesitant to buy the latest model, you really won't regret it. Another thing I wanted to mention is that I'm not aware of how much of a difference between the S25, S26 +, and S26 Ultra is there. I purchased the Ultra version because I read it was the best option for my everyday life and I got a great deal when I bought it. It might be better if you consult with someone about the features that you use the most in your current phone, what do you dislike and like about it, and which tools are you looking for on a new phone. You might even be satisfied buying a previous version and could save some money instead of buying the newest option that has features that don't really matter to you.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Could use more tweaking

The Galaxy S26 Ultra was great at first and worked beautifully, but since it's recent update has run slower or basically doesn't open apps at all. There are clearly a lot of bugs they thought they fixed with this update, but it literally slowed down the processing power. Also I basically ignore or turn off the AI features because I am anti-AI

BUYER'S REGRET. Wish I'd kept my S24 Ultra.

Phone is ok. Got this to replace my S24 Ultra. Definitely feels like a downgrade.
Camera is a lateral move at best.. I hate that the lenses stick out so far from the back of the phone. Spen is a definite downgrade. Why bother if it's just a stylus? Really miss the camera shutter control on my S24 spen. Also why did Samsung Messages go away? I HATE Google Messages. I really loved being able to pin favorite conversations to the top. And why is half the screen used up as a "Google Messages" title? We already know whose terrible app we're using, don't need the constant reminder.
Why is it shaped like the other phones (brand name is being "moderated") again? If I wanted a generic looking phone, I'd have gotten the other phone (brand name is being "moderated") or Google phone.
Sad that my two-year-old phone feels so much better than the brand new one. Overall, I really regret buying this phone.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not as great as the hype...

I 'upgraded' from the S24 Ultra, and I actually would prefer to have the S24 back. This phone is not as strong - you can literally get the body to twist in your hands. The S24 body was much stronger, but you still have to pay the same price for a phone that is not as strong.
The battery life seems to be about the same - no improvement over the S24.
I personally am not seeing any difference in the cameras. The S26 Ultra might be a little sharper, but not a lot.
Samsung's decision to drop Samsung Messages has left us with the garbage known as Google Messages. Google just doesn't get it. They are HORRIBLE at interface design. We FINALLY got a trash can, but it is inferior to the Samsung version. You can only move an ENTIRE conversation into the trash. If you only want to delete part of a conversation, then it is permanently deleted - no retrieving it from the trash if you happen to need it. Then when you do delete part of a conversation, there are multiple lines in the app that say "RCS chat with (contact)" followed by the date and time of that message. So STUPID. Google's design team needs to start paying attention to how other companies do it and correct their massive mistakes.
Qi wireless charging is also not as consistent on the S26. Due to the MASSIVE camera array, it makes it more difficult to get the phone into the correct position on the charging pad.
As for the display, the S24 just looks better with the sharp corners. The rounded corners on the S26 do not add anything to the experience at all. Both display have the same resolution and brightness, so unless you NEED the privacy feature, it is not an upgrade.
The speed of the S26 is up a little bit from the S24, but it is not that much faster. Booting up is where I see the most improvement, but other than that, the S24 performs just fine.
Overall I am not that impressed. The only plus is that I got enough in trade for my S24 that I paid less than half price for this one. I think that these manufacturers need to stop feeling the need to release new phones EVERY SINGLE year, and start focusing on making ACTUAL improvements. No one needs a new phone every year - it is just beyond wasteful.

Completely disappointed!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The galaxy AI was about the same as my s24 ultra. I TRIED THE SAMSUNG GALAXY S26 ULTRA TO TRADE IN MY S24 ULTRA AND I SENT THE S26 ULTRA BACK! ONE OF THE REASONS WAS GOOGLE MESSAGES WAS THE ONLY OPTION ON THERE, WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO ACCEPT THAT! I CAN SEE ON A GOOGLE PIXEL PHONE, BUT THESE ARE SAMSUNG PHONES! I DOWNLOADED AN APK FOR SAMSUNG MESSAGES, BUT NOW YOU HAVE THIS PERMANENT MESSAGE THAT IT IS GOING AWAY IN JULY! I WANT THAT MESSAGE GONE TOO! THE NEW GALAXY S26 ULTRA WAS SOOOO DISSAPOINTING! - GOOGLE MESSAGES WAS THE ONLY OPTION - THE S-PEN IS CURVED WITH THE CORNER OF THE PHONE SO YOU HAVE TO LOOK WHICH WAY YOU ARE PUTTING IT BACK IN, I USE MY SPEN ALL THE TIME AND IF ITS AT NIGHT I DONT WANT TO BE STRUGGLING TO FIGURE OUT WHICH WAY ITS FACING! - IT OVERHEATED WHEN I WAS SETTING IT UP - THEY WHEN BACK TO ALUMINUM INSTEAD OF TITANIUM LIKE THE S24 ULTRA HAS!
SO I AM STICKING WITH THE S24 ULTRA, I WANT THE MESSAGE ABOUT SAMSUNG MESSAGES GONE AND I WANT THE OPTION TO KEEP SAMSUNG MESSAGES!
