[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s another year and Samsung has introduced one of their newest top of the line soundbar systems, the HW-990H.
Inside the box you will find the soundbar itself, the same redesigned subwoofer from last year, two surround sound speakers, four power cables, mounting brackets, and one HDMI cable. The appearance of all these items is very similar to last year’s hardware which is not necessarily a bad thing given how refined the that design already was.
Setting up the soundbar system couldn’t be any easier as it just works out of the box after connecting it to your TV’s HDMI eARC input. I downloaded and used Samsung’s SmartThings app to setup the system’s WiFi connection and for it to make any necessary software update. The SmartThings app can also be used to make sound adjustments to the soundbar if you’re not satisfied with the default sound settings. Through the app you can also choose whether to enable Alexa, Bixby, or no voice assistant at all.
Once setup, the HW-990H continues with Samsung’s trend of delivering a clean and minimal aesthetics that easily blends with most living spaces. This is especially nice since the subwoofer and surround speakers are wireless so there is less cable clutter. The build quality for all the components is solid! The soundbar itself has quite a heft to it and this is where it houses the majority of its speakers.
When it comes to sound, this soundbar system is just awesome! I’ve put this soundbar through a few movies and tv shows and let me tell you, the voice clarity is on another level with Samsung’s Active Voice Amplifier Pro turned on. Combine this with the new Sound Elevation feature included this year, and it positions better where the voices are coming from. No longer will you feel that the voices are coming from below the TV where the soundbar sits, but somehow, through some Samsung Magic, it’s able to bring that sound up to the level of the TV. The soundbar also excels when it comes to surround sound and it’s such game changer having rear speakers to enhance the content’s soundtrack. The subwoofer is not overpowering where walls will shake but it complements contents very well. The bass is clear and controlled, not distorted like those coming from cheap subwoofers.
Yeah, that’s my review of the system and it’s a really great system that Samsung has put out this year. The integration of AI to optimize the room calibration, sound elevation, and voice enhancement

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really can't gush enough on how amazing this sound bar is. We previously had an older 3 channel soundbar, and this new one has blown it away! Like many people, we always put captions on for TV shows or movies because dialogue always used to seem muddy or difficult to hear. Not any longer! Voice comes out clear and crisp. Bass heavy songs. A dream come true. It's unbelievable how amazing the sound is. I am the biggest fan of this soundbar, and everyone who has come over to watch something has commented on the sound quality. It's pretty simple. If you care about amazing, great sound. This is the soundbar to get!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Get sounding sound bar samsung this is way better than the traditional surround sound with all the speakers highly recommend
I never could've imagined... The HW-Q990H is the pinnacle of sound in my opinion. After upgrading from the HW-Q800T, I knew it could be better but by NO means did I think it could be THIS much better. With such crystal clear highs and rumbling lows, I truly felt as though I was in my own person theater. The Dolby Atmos was on full display while watching John Wick and I truly felt every punch and kick throughout the action scenes. The 11.1.4-channel surround sound made the feel as if i was sitting in the hotel instead the movie instead of watching it on my OLED. And while this may seem like a small feature, the fact that I can connect everything by Bluetooth and Wi-Fi honestly allows so much flexibility when it comes to placement in my apartment... This is cinema...
