Great when working

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would recommend preparing a USB drive for most current update immediately after setting up. I didn't, unit stopped working after 2 weeks. Thought oh well shame on me. A few months later it just started working again out of the blue. Everything great so far.

Samsung Continues to Lead the Soundbar Segment

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Samsung continues to impress with the Q990H for 2026. Coming from a Q990C, the difference is absolutely noticeable, and honestly rather surprising. The Q990C had featured a larger subwoofer, but at the cost of taking up a large eye footprint. The Q990H features a smaller cube-shaped subwoofer that somehow through sound science, sounds fuller and deeper than the subwoofer of the Q990C.
Paired with my Samsung S95C, the soundbar connected with Q-Symphony mode flawless, setup took less than a minute and it just worked. No need to manually map where the rear speakers were, the system used SpaceFit Sound Pro to automatically adjust the sound utilizing the on-board microphones.
Using HDMI 2.1 passthrough ports connected to my PS5 Pro, I was able to utilize Dolby Atmos in-game (and confirmed by the soundbar displaying the Dolby-Atmos text on its mini-screen), and it makes a very large difference in terms of overall experience, I'd argue almost on par as picture quality nowadays.
If you're still using built-in TV speaker audio, let me just say that you are missing out on a home-cinema experience. I highly recommend this soundbar.

An Immersive Sound experience

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am extremely impressed by the HW-Q990H Soundbar! My husband and I have had other soundbars in the past and this one wins by far. Our living room cannot accommodate a full surround sound system so a sound bar is the best alternative. From watching TV shows or action movies, the soundbar makes us feel like we are inside the scene itself. The design of the soundbar system is sleek and made to save space but packs a punch.
I was surprised how compact the subwoofer is which made it easy to place discreetly next to our couch. The left and right speaker are also compact which make them easy to place on an end table or on a shelf. The soundbar itself came with its own mount which was easy to install since it came with a wall guide for precision. My husband and I were able to get the entire system set up and mounted in place within 30 minutes.
We were able to connect the soundbar seamlessly through our Samsung phones, using the Smart Things App, which only took a few minutes. The app is a cool feature because you can change all the settings and check the status of the system right from there. It saves time from having to adjust the sound settings with the remote. There are so many different ways to adapt the sound to your preference which is nice. One of the more interesting features that we found was the "Active Voice Amplifier Pro" setting. There are so many times when you are watching a movie and the background sounds are too loud making it hard to hear what the people are saying. This feature adapts the sound to boost the voices without breaking the immersion.
Overall, this soundbar has exceeded my expectations! Truly, I have nothing negative to say about it. If you, too, have a space that cannot house a large surround sound system but you want that same feeling, the Samsung HW-Q990H soundbar is the way to go. From the sleek design to the amazing sound, it is a well-rounded and highly adaptable listening experience!

Great sound!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great sound bar. I really love the surround sound setup it has. It makes it sound like you are at the theater. Set up was simple and hooked up to my tv well. It definitely elevates not only movie night but video games as well. You can hear when someone is playing a game throughout the whole house if its up loud enough. We ended up having to put the soundbar on the floor due to our tv stand being too small for it, which is fine.

Big Upgrade That Everyone in the House Can Enjoy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Samsung HW-Q990H Soundbar difference from our Q990F is quite significant. The sound became more three-dimensional due to the combined work of the soundbar, subwoofer, and rear speakers.
First of all, I want to highlight that the clarity of the dialogue was achieved due to the active voice amplifier pro. This function ensures the correct reproduction of speech, and it does not become distorted at high levels. Another advantage is the Sound Elevation function. It allows you to feel more comfortable listening to films and series, because thanks to the effect of depth, movies become more cinematographic.
There is another interesting feature AI adaptive sound mode. It allows you to automatically adapt sound according to the material being watched. Regardless of whether it is a movie, a film or music, this option always provides quality sound.
In terms of usability, it is convenient to operate every day, and the interface operates correctly.
