Camera gets lost

I filmed a few of my 8yo son soccer game, and there have been times where the camera would stray WAY off course and record the parents at the sideline…sometimes even way behind the sideline. I have the camera set up at midfield approximately 8’ back from the side line, on a 13’ tripod.

Does the job and for a fraction of the cost of some other options.
