[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Compatible with PS5 and can be wireless which works well so I can move around in between games. They are very comfortable and don’t hurt my ears and are very lightweight. Setup was very easy. I recommend them!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The boys in my family have been using this headset for over a month. We had a hard time getting it connected at first but after re reading the instructions it was very straight forward. They are super comfortable and fit really well for all different ages. They do a good job of canceling noise and the mic is really clear.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I both love this headset. I really like that it can be used with my computer, while my husband uses it when he plays on hid PS5. The sound quality is great. It’s comfortable to wear, and the wireless feature makes it very convenient. We’re both very happy with it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I primarily game at night after my husband goes to bed so headphones are a must. I’ve used a couple different styles from regular ear buds to some over the ear models like these but it’s been hard to find the right fit. Some are finicky connecting, others have middling sound, it’s been hard to find the sweet spot between quality, comfort and price.
I’m not going to say this headset is life changing, but for what I’d consider a budget option once you graduate from plugging whatever you have laying around into the controller and calling it a day, these are pretty solid.
I am a huge fan of how smooth the connection process was with the dongle. Trying to pair things to my tv and working around the soundbar is sometimes a huge pain with other Bluetooth options. This was a lot easier and paired without any having to pair, forget, re-pair, repeat until my tv finally figured out what I wanted.
I think the sound quality is pretty good. It’s not going to hold up against more expensive models geared towards audio files but notably clearer than my cheaper ones. I did like that it has three different sound modes that are easy to cycle through by clicking the right ear. I can’t tell a ton of difference, but it’s nice to have options and FPS mode is a nice touch when I’m trying to pick up on subtler audio clues that get lost in my other headphones.
They’re reasonably light and comfortable to wear. My ears aren’t sore after a longer session and I don’t have to worry about earbuds falling out when I move my head or walk around. The mic is fine, nothing super great but functional. I do like the auto mute when you flip it up, makes it easy to switch it on and off without remembering where to click or what sequence of actions.
The controls are a small learning curve. Nothing is that complicated but it took a couple sessions for me to remember to triple click to change the audio mode and what not. Adjusting the volume by turning the left cup has been a quality of life upgrade for me. Having to use the remove or click a button is a little annoying and I feel like I get good control over the level with turning the knob. This probably isn’t for the super serious gamer but if you want a good all around option at a reasonable price, I’m happy with what it offers.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given the opportunity to try the LucidSound LS500P headphones and was overall surprised. The headphones have a solid overall build with comfortable ear-pads. I appreciate the convenient controls, including the volume wheel on the side and ability to control the sound profile by pressing the sides of the headphones. The volume output was more than adequate, and the sound quality was good overall.
I appreciate the flip down microphone. It’s simple to use, automatically muting when flipped up and activating again when flipped down.
My biggest concern is the durability. While the headband and ear-pads seems breathable, the thin material covering these areas feels like it could wear out or tear easily overtime, especially for someone who games regularly.
Overall, I’d rate these 3/5 stars. For the price, they offer good sound, useful controls and a well designed microphone. Improve the padding and I would have no problem giving them a 4/5 or even a 5/5 for the price.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a lifelong gamer, but only got into multiplayer gaming a few years ago. I've since learned the value of a good headset and am always upgrading my tech! While I have a PS5 as well as a PC, I only multiplayer game on the latter, so I was thrilled to take this LucidSound LS500P wireless gaming headset that works for both PC and PS for a spin.
First of all, a small touch that I really appreciated immediately upon opening the box is that it's packaged in recyclable cardboard instead of foam. Love that! The headphones themselves have a premium look and feel. They are light, sleek, and manage fit completely over the ear with plenty of padding for comfort yet don't loo too bulky. I do think I'd prefer them not in white, but that's just a matter of personal taste.
These are comfortable to wear, as well. They fit as expected and don't pinch me or pull my hair. The band is snug without squeezing my head. I like the quick-access mic that flips down for easy use. My immediate impression of this product was very good. I did have difficulty figuring out the controls and had to refer to the instructions: personally, I would prefer the wheel control for volume have a tangible end point so I can feel when it's at the bottom or top already. That way I can avoid accidentally deafening myself turning them on when the volume has gotten bumped way up.
However, when I went to use these, I had a very hard time getting them to work with my PC, despite having an updated and current version of Windows 11 plus all necessary drivers. This claims to pair via wireless mode or Bluetooth, but my PC would not recognize the dongle at all. I switched to Bluetooth and it did find it and paired without issue. Sound came through the headset perfectly.
However, nothing I did, despite adjusting every setting I could and checking all my drivers, would get it to pick up any sound from the mic... and yes, I made sure it was in the "on" position! Even the headset itself says it has integrated mic monitoring, and no matter how I adjusted the sound, I could not hear myself over the headset. Nor did a test under my PC's audio settings show any input coming from the mic at all. I followed lots of troubleshooting steps, all to no avail, before giving up and just using this for sound input only.
If the mic had worked, I probably would have rated this 4/5. The sound quality is crisp, clear, and well-balanced. However, since the point of a gaming headset to me is to chat with my friends while I play, this was a big let-down. Even if I eventually find some firmware update or something fixes the issue (unlikely), the fact that this is so difficult to get working straight out of the box would prevent me from choosing it again. However, if offered the chance to test another pair to see if that worked better, I would gladly do so. I think this is a quality product and I may have just gotten a dud.
As always, my opinions are entirely my own. In full disclosure I did receive this product for free from Influenster in exchange for my honest review.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are great to wear while playing. They are comfortable and fit very well on my head. The only thing I disliked is the material on the ear cups. It feels a bit rough but once I started to focus on the screen I forgot all about it. I can hear very well and love how easy it is to change the volume. Everything about this headphone is effortless. My husband even wants one but in black. Probably one of the best sets I have. The only thing I don’t know about is the microphone but if that’s not important to you then you don’t need to worry about whether or not you’re crystal clear.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great lightweight headphones that work seamlessly for both PC gaming and the PlayStation. They don’t get too hot when they’ve been worn for a long time and don’t give me pressure headaches. And the battery lasts for so long!
