Easy to read!

Easy to read on the course, magnet is strong and stays on the cart even over rough terrain.

So far pretty happy with G82. I would appreciate a battery indicator while charging on G82 screen or Garmin Connect screen. Also I have not found a way to remove player 2 from scorecard, in other words usually only want my score.

Such potential, but falls short across the board

As a Garmin user (S72 watch, Z30 rangefinder, CIRQA) I was hoping the G82 would be the ultimate complement to those devices and perfect as a traveling launch monitor and bigger screen to read distances on the course as my eyesight is going and seeing the graphics on my watch are getting tougher…But, sadly, I was disappointed on all fronts. The screen is way too dark to use out on the course, making it hard to read the distances and graphics (even turned all the way up). As for the launch monitor aspect, for the price, I would expect better. Doesn’t pick up a bunch of shots during a session, and the data is very erratic and often. Spin seems to be the worst culprit, which leads to very poor distance numbers on various clubs. This was comparing it side by side with my Bushnell Launch Pro. As I travel often, was hoping I could leave the BLP home and just use the G82, but I had to send it back. For the price it’s not worth it. Was hoping for better upgrades after the G80, which is a great device, but this isn’t it. They threw more stuff on it, but not better stuff.

Good but could be better

I really like the G82 and value its capabilities, but I wish it integrated more smoothly with my other Garmin golf devices.
My two main concerns are:
1. CT10 sensors: The CT10s will work with either the G82 or my S70 watch, but not both at the same time. Since I’ve invested in the Garmin ecosystem, I’d like the flexibility to use the CT10s with both devices.
2. Rangefinder synchronization: My Garmin rangefinder will sync with my S70, but only one device at a time. It would be much better if the pin location could update both the G82 and S70 simultaneously.
Overall, I’m very happy with the G82. I just wish Garmin’s golf devices communicated more seamlessly with each other. That would make an already excellent system much more useful.

The new 2026 G82, a great device from Garmin!

I have been a long time owner of Garmin handheld rangefinder products.
I have owned two Garmin G8 rangefinders. I recently thought that I had lost my G8 and went to the Garmin website to see what handhelds they might have. I was happy to find out that they had released the G82 handheld in January.
I reviewed it and immediately purchased it because of my familiarity with the quality that Garmin products possess and the solid software that they use in their devices.
I have used my new G82 once or twice and I am impressed with the resolution of the graphics and the ease of use to get point to point range from where I am standing to sand traps, trees and to other areas on the course.
It has been a worthwhile investment in the latest technology that Garmin has for the golf world.
I am looking forward to using the G82 during practice session hitting my woods, hybrids, and irons.
More importantly I am looking forward to using the G82 during practice putting sessions.
I like the size of the G82, but it is quite heavy or some people might say bulky. It has a magnetic back so you can attach it to your cart, but knowing that the golf course is not smooth but quite bumpy, I would not trust attaching it to the cart because it will probably drop off and then if not paying attention you will loose a very pricey device.
Other than that, I love the G82 and believe that Garmin has really moved forward

I purchased this a few weeks ago replacing the R10. This works more efficiently for me as far my practice rounds with putting and the driving range. Even keeps things in order while out on the course keeping track of the scores for everyone.

Great features for a high HI (26) golfer.

I was a little apprehensive when I bought this but it has turned out to be a game changer for me. The bag mapping feature was priceless to me because you get a true distance from each club instead of guessing how far you can hit.
