The new S26 Ultra is a mixed bag

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So, just as a point of reference, I "upgraded" to this s26 Ultra from the s23 Ultra thanks to a good deal to trade in the old model. So, first, the good. The battery life and charging speed are an improvement. I definitely had to be sure to charge the old phone every day. With this new version I can skip a day, especially if my usage is light. I do actually prefer the flat screen over the curved edges for numerous reasons. Frankly, most, nearly all, the rest of the functionality is pretty similar. Some things might be a little faster, but then it is a newer phone. Now, the bad. There are quite a few aggravations, most of them software. The newer voice assist samsung galaxy AI whatever is pretty awful. The integration with my vehicle's head unit with Android Auto has new, dangerous and annoying problems. Like not honoring my "extend unlock" setting to leave the screen on when connected to the car, and again, very annoying issues with the voice assistant. I'm still getting used to it, and hopefully some of the many software issues will get fixed at some point. Some things are just the inevitable nature of changes to software too. Like them forcing Google Messages on everybody. But hey, why should they care? If you have a newer phone, I wouldn't recommend switching to this one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Since the Note 20 Ultra, the 22 Ultra really sucks. But ever since I got this 26 Ultra, it is the best!! I absolutely love my phone!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a nice upgrade from my 22 ultra but with all the nice features seems not much change from the 24 and 25 ultra. The privacy screen isn't that great either. Seems more distracting and hard to use and watch. I think the the phone is pretty good quality and pretty loaded with features. I won't be upgrading anytime soon though.

Samsung Forever!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra feels less like a phone and more like carrying a tiny film studio and command center in your pocket. The cameras are unreal. Photos come out packed with detail, colors look rich without feeling overcooked, and the zoom still feels like it bends physics slightly in Samsung’s favor. Night shots especially are a huge leap, with brighter low-light performance and cleaner detail. The 200MP main camera paired with upgraded Nightography and AI editing tools makes everything from quick snapshots to dramatic sunset photos look polished.
The display deserves its own standing ovation. The 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen is ridiculously sharp, smooth, and bright, making videos, games, and even doomscrolling feel cinematic. The new built-in Privacy Display is surprisingly useful too, especially in public when you don’t want neighboring eyeballs joining your group chat.
And Galaxy AI finally feels practical instead of decorative. Features like Photo Assist, contextual suggestions, smarter editing, and proactive tools actually save time instead of becoming settings you forget exist. The whole experience feels faster, smoother, and genuinely helpful.
Samsung absolutely cooked with this one. If you want elite cameras, a jaw-dropping display, and AI features that earn their spot on the home screen, the Galaxy S26 Ultra delivers.

I'll never go back

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was huge on other smart phones in the past, switched to a Galaxy S6 back then and I haven't looked back. Absolutely love my Galaxy S26 Ultra, the OS is easy to use and easy to learn. The camera quality is amazing the 100x zoom feature still makes me say "WOW!" I've never been a huge fan of Ai features, but Galaxy ai is actually quite neat and to my surprise has helped me find items a lot easier with the circle to search. I don't know what else to say other than I love it.
