Not what I expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Phone transfer was not smooth. Had to attempt twice. Once completed, it was still missing several apps Home screen did not populate from my last phone and had to manually add my apps. Then phone seems to freeze often. Annoying and unwanted search bar defaults to yahoo.com and cannot be disabled and cannot figure out to switch it to Google. Pages take longer to load and sometimes do not load at all. I've had to reboot several times in less than a week. Samsung please help!!

Not worth the hype
on March 22, 2026
Posted by: Maugham
I've been playing around with the phone and I gotta say I'm not impressed. Quite honestly I hate the bulky feeling it has due to the raised camera. I'm also upset to hear that the phone is now aluminum vs the titanium. The only feature I can say I like is the privacy screen. I feel like samsung is trying to hard to be like other big name brands. I've been a samsung lover for years but I'm seriously contemplating returning this and switching to a new brand entirely due to this new lineup.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

So far, so good - but still not perfect.

I'm a long time Samsung customer and recently purchased this phone as an upgrade from my Samsung s23 Ultra, which in itself is a beautiful phone, probably the best Samsung ever made. I never had any problems with it, other than the weight of it. It hurt to part with, but after three years, it was time to move on. I traded in that phone to get a discount on this one.
I'm very satisfied with how this phone is built. It has the durability I've come to expect, plus it performs well. It's a lot lighter weight-wise than my s23 Ultra, so that's a plus. I like the rounded corners in comparison to the boxy square ones that were prevalent on the Note/s22, 23 & 24 Ultras. Camera is okay but not necessarily an improvement over what I had. Phone calls come in crisp and clear, unless there's a problem on the other caller's end. The big attraction regarding this phone is the built in privacy screen, which is a good idea, however, when it's on, the viewing screen for the user doesn't appear to be as clear. Battery life is about average, but not any different (or better) than previous Ultras I've owned, however, it does charge really quickly. Don't really care about the Galaxy AI features, because I seldom use it.
I took off one star for a number of reasons: the design of the oversized camera/photo lenses in the back. They were already huge and with them on that "island" platform, it protrudes out even more. Add the lens protectors on top and that's added bulk. The phone already wobbles because of the size of the camera lens, the lens protectors make it even worse. Seems counterproductive to make a phone that is a little thinner and lighter but have camera lenses that stick out that far. Maybe in future models they will consider altering the design so the phone can lie a little more flush on a surface. Having Samsung messages taken away is not an improvement. I have concerns about how secure SMS and MMS texts are with Google Messages, and it seems to be a hassle to customize it to your liking. I had to go online to figure out how to set it up. I also wasn't aware that the 16 GB RAM was only available with the 1TB model. I brought the 512 GB model, expecting it and was disappointed to find that it was not there. Also as many others have lamented, the issue of the bluetooth not being connected with the SPen is a definite minus. I guess having the built in privacy screen was the trade off. However, I don't regret purchasing it. It's not a bad phone, but I guess I was expecting more.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a lot of problems with the Samsung Galaxy s26 Ultra if I try to watch a video it will constantly try to put itself to sleep if I'm not watching a video and just set it down it stays on. Bigsby is a joke. With the galaxy AI I can't register my voice because all It keeps saying is did not recognize. So Bixby just turns on and off randomly but never answers to my voice when I say the wake up phrase. Speak into the microphone and then read what it writes afterwards most of the time is nowhere near what I said. And for having 12 gigs of RAM this thing is slow or it could just be the processor or everything about the phone that makes it slow. And yes I have it switched on to where it's not supposed to turn off or go to sleep while you're watching it a lot of the apps are buggy. I would like to play some games on it but I'm not even going to try because it probably just make it crash way too much for it. So far I've only had a week but I'm not too happy with it it would be nice if this review mattered somehow but I know you guys are just going to look at it shrug it off and start worrying more about your pockets again, and to be honest I should have stuck with my last Galaxy phone too late now.

Not so durable
on April 3, 2026
Posted by: Sohamsj
Plz use a screenprotector, I learnt the hard way. Owned note series since s9, always bought a screen protector, skipped for the first time buying into hype of a strong durable screen. Another issue with this phone is it goes into listening AI mode even if the phone is idle or not in use. My First note that's cracked, not a first I was looking forward to.

Best one yet!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Here's a more natural, human-sounding version:
---
Honestly, I wasn't sure the S26 Ultra would be worth the upgrade, but a few weeks in and it's hard to go back. The 6.9-inch display is massive in the best way — watching sports or movies on this thing is kind of ridiculous. Bumped it up to full resolution and the difference was immediately obvious.
Speed-wise, I have zero complaints. Everything opens fast, I can bounce between apps without any lag, and gaming is smoother than I expected. Doesn't feel like it's breaking a sweat.
The thing I keep coming back to is Galaxy AI. I was honestly skeptical — AI features on phones always felt like filler to me. But I actually use it. Photo editing on the fly, summarizing long notes before meetings, translating stuff in real time. It's built into how I use the phone now without me really trying to make it that way.
Camera is excellent. Low-light shots especially — way better than my S24. Zoom still holds up at distances where other phones just give you mush.
Battery gets me through a full day consistently, and if I'm running low the fast charging is fast enough that I don't stress about it.
My honest critiques: it's expensive, and if you're coming from an S25 Ultra you might not feel a huge jump. More of a polish than a reinvention.
But for what it is — a phone you can do basically everything on!

Worst Ultra I've ever had
on April 2, 2026
Posted by: Noneya
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had many Samsung Ultra's and this is by far the worst. Glitches galore. If you copy some text, the "Copied" notification bubble (for lack of better words) at the bottom of the screen doesn't leave the screen until you manipulate the phone to make it go away. It does that with alot of the phone's text bubbles. Makes it hard to read text messages until you get rid of it. It'll tell me I have text messages that are unread, which I don't, and so I have to go into my settings and click "Mark as read" for the notification to go away. None of my other Ultras did this.
