The new S26 Ultra is a mixed bag

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So, just as a point of reference, I "upgraded" to this s26 Ultra from the s23 Ultra thanks to a good deal to trade in the old model. So, first, the good. The battery life and charging speed are an improvement. I definitely had to be sure to charge the old phone every day. With this new version I can skip a day, especially if my usage is light. I do actually prefer the flat screen over the curved edges for numerous reasons. Frankly, most, nearly all, the rest of the functionality is pretty similar. Some things might be a little faster, but then it is a newer phone. Now, the bad. There are quite a few aggravations, most of them software. The newer voice assist samsung galaxy AI whatever is pretty awful. The integration with my vehicle's head unit with Android Auto has new, dangerous and annoying problems. Like not honoring my "extend unlock" setting to leave the screen on when connected to the car, and again, very annoying issues with the voice assistant. I'm still getting used to it, and hopefully some of the many software issues will get fixed at some point. Some things are just the inevitable nature of changes to software too. Like them forcing Google Messages on everybody. But hey, why should they care?
If you have a newer phone, I wouldn't recommend switching to this one.

Incredible Performance and Camera

The 200MP camera captures stunning details, and the low-light video quality is a massive step up. The screen is massive, bright, and perfect for streaming content.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] During the time I've been using my galaxy s26 ultra, it has certainly made things more convenient at work and personally. At work the phone remembers my repetitive tasks and makes the daily process easier. It also has an Ai assistant that filters calls for me which helps block spam calls. And I've noticed the performance improvements from the s25 ultra since the s26 ultra reacts faster to Ai commands. The battery life is roughly the same as the previous model and I feel like the camera was better in the s25 ultra. I also like the privacy screen mode that I use while in public or work so others cannot see what I'm searching. The transition between applications is snappy, especially if you use developer mode and shut off all the animation features. For me the main selling point was the fast hardware and the top of the line image quality on the phone.

The best features - the best phone

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the S26 Ultra for a couple of weeks now, and it is easily the most capable phone on the market. The display is insanely bright and crisp, and the battery life easily gets me through a full day of heavy use with juice to spare. What really stands out this year is how fast and seamless the GALAXY AI features feel—it actually makes daily multitasking and photo editing useful rather than gimmicky.
I use it EVERYWHERE! Home, work, grocery shopping, photo sessions. To zone in or to zone out of the world! Camera quality is top-tier, especially the zoom and low-light shots. If you want a phone that can do absolutely everything without breaking a sweat, this is it. I have always used Samsung and will always continue to use Samsung. Highly recommend!
