[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Does everything you could ever need! Cameras are sharp! Device runs smooth. My only complaint at all is I wish the charger and headphones still came standard. But for the price its a great phone and Galaxy AI works great as well!

Software is a step backwards, phone is too large
on March 9, 2026
Posted by: cvs26review
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The software in this new phone is a step back compared to my previous device (z flip 5). It lost customization options I made use of previously, such as the ability to hide the battery charge percentage from the status bar, while becoming significantly more pushy with "Galaxy AI". I do not want to use these silly AI features, stop asking. I don't care how much money Samsung has wasted chasing this market trend, I don't want my product to be made actively-worse to justify their bad investments. The number of pre-installed apps I do not want also increased, as did the count of advertisements disguised as push notifications.
Additionally, the phone is too large. The base-model S series was the last premium-quality phone that could reasonably be called "small" on the market (despite still being about 20% larger than I'd like), and this entry (the S26) increased the size. Either make it smaller again or, ideally, release a "Mini" variant. The market for such phones isn't large, but it's completely ignored by every other smartphone maker, so would be captive to Samsung. Regardless, the size increase is unappreciated.

I wanted the size to be maintained or reduced.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Transferring from S24. I changed my phone before the rising memory costs were reflected in the price. Honestly, there haven't been any significant changes other than the increase in memory from 8GB to 12GB. I'm actually dissatisfied with the slightly larger size. If you attach a case to your phone, it becomes heavier, and if you attach a back accessory, it becomes even heavier. There's no doubt that this size increase has made it even more difficult to use in exchange for the battery, which hasn't increased by even 10%. There are countless options for larger models, so I'd like the next one to be smaller. While there shouldn't be any changes in camera performance, the lens has become larger compared to the S24. I like the design of the lens lined up vertically, but the addition of a camera bumper limits the back accessories. If it's this obstructive, there's no need for a camera bumper. The position of MagSafe is bad, and you can't attach MagSafe MOFT. The transcription and summarization of voice recorders using Galaxy AI are very useful, so I hope the s26 will improve its accuracy. For weight reduction, I hope not to have Magsafe on main unit will be maintained. Most people use cases. Just buy Magsafe case for those who needs it. The strength of the standard s series lies in its high-end "compactness," so I absolutely want it to maintain its compactness and lightness.

Finally, the upgrade iv been waiting for

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been holding onto my Galaxy S22 for years, and while I loved the size, the battery anxiety was real. Switching to the S26 feels like a breath of fresh air.
The most immediate difference is the efficiency. Where my S22 would be begging for a charger by 4:00 PM, the S26 still has plenty of juice left when I'm headed to bed. It also stays remarkably cool; I haven't noticed any of the "pocket warming" issues I had with the older model during video calls or gaming.
Key Improvements I Noticed:
Display: The jump in peak brightness is huge. I can actually see my navigation maps in direct sunlight now.
Speed: Everything feels instantaneous. The 8GB/12GB RAM (depending on your model) makes multitasking feel fluid compared to the slight stutters I was starting to see on my old phone.
Cameras: The low-light performance is on another level. The "Nightography" has actually caught up to the hype—photos are sharp without looking artificial.
Verdict: If you’re still rocking an S22 and wondering if it’s time to move on, do it. This feels like the "finished version" of what the S22 was trying to be. It’s faster, lasts longer, and the Galaxy AI features actually feel useful for daily photo editing.

Runs so smoothly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm so excited to test out all the new Galaxy AI features. I didn’t expect there to be so many. They will definitely make my life a lot easier. Galaxy AI will be useful for calls and school work and I might have to start gaming on this phone! So far the phone runs so well, was definitely worth the upgrade from the S23! The camera looks amazing as always, will definitely using the Galaxy AI for photos and videos.

Nice upgrade from my S23

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Initially, I thought that the addition of Galaxy AI would be a gimmick for the new phones, but I can see some use for it in everyday use. The new Galaxy S26 is a nice upgrade from the S23, with faster processing, brighter screen, and a longer lasting battery. So far, I'm happy with the S26. It would have been cool to have the built in privacy screen that the ultra has, but I'm not too bummed out about it.
