Great fir productivity

I am not that much of a gamer, but like to run high resolution with no scaling for maximum desktop area. I always break my monitors up into area using Microsoft fancy zones so I gave specific windows for email, browser, teams, etc. I have typically used a 32” 4k monitor and took this home to try it. I was concerned about the aggressive curve and thought I would wait for the 990a. Once I used it, I loved the curve. At high resolution the aggressive curve is needed to keep things close and i loved the oled blacks and refresh as well. I play some flight simulator, etc. but for me there is no concern at all for the aggressive curve. After using this, I knew if I had a 990a, I would always keep it at most aggressive curve and it only goes down to 900R and I would want the 800R(smaller is more aggressive) the 950a has. Plus, nice getting speakers in the 950 as 990 is not supposed to have them. I really wish it had a kvm built in and would not have bought it, but remembered that my Logitech keyboard and mouse have that built in so I just bought extra dongle for my work laptop, and Mac so I could easily connect 3 computers without cable madness or nerdy external kvm. I am an older professional and just love this monitor, and I liked the matte finish better because I have a window in my office and do not care for the dungeon scene with no windows to lower glare, etc. games and work all look great. No fishbowl effect for me whatsoever and I am in my 50s and have serious job working on it 8 hours a day for past 3 months

Just bought this but the DisplayPort won’t work but HDMI does. Are there any known issues? I’ve tried it with supplied cable and my own.

Truly end-game panel

This is the best monitor I have ever used. In a desktop setting, everything is crisp and clear. I have a fairly deep desk so I don't have to crane my neck. I use HDMI 2.1, which works for me. Not sure why people even bother to use DP 2.1 when HDMI 2.1 works perfectly well for this style of display.
In games, holy crap. This thing rules. Playing games at 5k 165hz is an incredible experience. Add the HDR to it and it's even better. Baldur's Gate 3 never looked so good. I can't really tell the difference between 165 and 330 in games like rocket league, so I don't really bother with the dual mode, although that might be a selling point for some. The only criticism I've seen of the dual mode is that it does not perfectly scale, which it should be able to; going from 5120x2160 to 2560x1080 should mean that the pixels scale perfectly, but there is some fringing. See Optimum's review on youtube for more details.

The best LG monitor for the best games! Nothing beats playing a great game like Baldur's Gate 3 like enjoying the lush wilderness of Act I, or even admiring the darker themes in Act II. We know that immersion is next level, and it makes you feel like you're actually in Faerun! We also appreciate you sharing your feedback with us about the dual-mode feature, and we'd be happy to offer this link (https://tinyurl.com/234h56zn), which may improve its picture quality, even if by a little. We'd love to hear what else you've been enjoying about your monitor on social media at @LGUSSupport. Looking forward to hearing from you! ❤*Josh

Amazing. All around, during gaming and productivity apps, it simply works flawlessly. Heavy-duty monitor base and plenty of options to fit your current or future setup. I use this monitor with Windows and Mac and switch between displays using the monitor input button at the bottom.
Hello, Christopher! Thanks for the shout‑out about your LG LDT7808SS Dishwasher — it’s great hearing how well it’s been performing for you during everyday use. We’ll make sure your note about the rack alignment and door popping open gets passed along to our product team so they can keep improving the experience. ^James

Great gaming monitor - no displayport 2.1
on March 26, 2025
Posted by: Ajay83
Great monitor with amazing picture quality. Definitely can notice the PPI difference compared to the older version. Games look amazing. Was skeptical about curve, but it does not bother me, may actually prefer over a flat version now. I have docked one point for the displayport 2.1 which this is supposed to support but does not. Displayport 1.4 works fine with HDR, but when I turn on HDR with displayport 2.1, there is no signal. From reading the online threads, no one has this working and I have tried 3 different cables, so it is not my setup issue. Definitely an issue with the monitor firmware/software. If this ever gets fixed, I will update my review.
