Bought this and tried a HP Thunderbolt 4 docking station to upgrade a older HP USB-C/A Universal Dock G2. Nether one of them worked with my older Macbook or newer Alienware. Enshitification at its finest.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I continually got the "peripheral connected/disconnected/no wait connected/now disconnected" sound in Windows when my non-HP laptop was locked. It just wasn't quite compatible. And the power button didn't work to turn on my machine. Oh well.

Those docking station works exactly as advertised. The only recommendation I have is to add more USB-C and and USB-A ports.
