Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Review: Powerful on Paper
on March 30, 2026
Posted by: Wishfulthinking
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra promises a premium experience with cutting-edge features, but in everyday use, persistent bugs and performance inconsistencies make it difficult to fully recommend. One of the most noticeable issues is the biometric fingerprint scanner. The in-display sensor frequently struggles to recognize registered fingerprints, often displaying messages like “fingerprint not recognized” or “press harder.” Even when carefully following the on-screen instructions, the scanner can fail multiple times in a row, occasionally locking users out temporarily. For a flagship device, this level of unreliability is frustrating and disruptive. Similarly, face unlock lacks consistency, often failing in normal lighting conditions and forcing users to rely on a PIN or pattern more often than expected. These biometric issues together undermine what should be a seamless unlocking experience. Performance-wise, the phone shows occasional cracks. Users may encounter touchscreen responsiveness issues, including delayed or missed inputs—particularly around the edges of the screen or when using gesture navigation. In addition, apps can freeze or crash unexpectedly, requiring restarts that interrupt workflow and daily use. Another concern is thermal performance. The device tends to warm up during relatively basic tasks like browsing or streaming, not just during intensive gaming. This ties into battery inconsistency, where drain can feel faster than expected even under moderate usage

Vast improvements

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I must say the Galaxy AI integration is seemless and quite helpful. I use it most with editing photos.
The battery lasts a full day now whereas my S24u was requiring recharging about 5pm each day.
Although, I am disappointed in the loss of Spen Bluetooth capabilities. As it used to tell. Me when I left my pen behind and could use it as a remote for the camera.

Upgraded to S26 Ultra — Absolutely Worth It
on March 30, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just upgraded from the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra to the S26 Ultra, and the difference is noticeable right away. Everything feels faster, smoother, and more responsive overall.
What really stands out is Galaxy AI. It’s actually useful, not just a feature you forget about. I’ve been using it for writing assistance, quick edits, and everyday tasks, and it saves time while keeping things simple and organized.
The camera is also a big upgrade, especially in low light, and the display is super clear and easy on the eyes even after using it all day.
Overall, upgrading to the S26 Ultra was worth it. Between the performance and Galaxy AI features, it makes daily use easier and more efficient.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I actually switched from the ZFold 6 back to an Ultra and I've been loving it. The screen is crystal clear, the new features are really cool and I'm finding some of the Galaxy AI stuff to be pretty useful. All in all, would recommend this phone to anyone who wants a quality device.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I still had a S23 Ultra before upgrading to the S26 Ultra. I love everything about it. The privacy screen is a game changer and I love how you can just apply it to certain apps if you want to. The processor is very fast. The 200mm option on the camera takes stunning photos. Overall I am very happy
