Privacy and Power in a Sleek Package
on March 24, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the new Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, and while it looks familiar, the experience is a major step up. It feels like a tool designed for real-world use rather than just a spec sheet. The standout feature is definitely the new Privacy Display. It’s impressive how it blocks side-view "snoopers" in public while staying crystal clear for me. It’s a feature I didn’t know I needed until now. The Highlights: Galaxy AI: Features like Now Nudge are game-changers. The keyboard now suggests photos or events based on my chats, which really speeds up my day. Low-Light Camera: The wider aperture on the 200MP sensor makes night shots look much more natural with significantly less noise. Performance: The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is a beast. Even during heavy video editing or gaming, the improved cooling keeps the phone from getting hot. Points to Note: Brightness: The Privacy Display makes the screen slightly less "punchy" than previous models, a small trade-off for security. Design: It’s lighter and more comfortable to hold, but the camera bump is still quite large, making it a bit wobbly on a desk without a case. Charging: 60W is an improvement, but I’d love to see even faster speeds for a battery this size. Verdict: If you’re upgrading from an older model, the jump is massive. The privacy features and AI fluidity make it a top-tier choice.

A BEAST of a phone. The S26 Ultra is fantastic!
on March 24, 2026

I've had all the Samsung Note phones since the original, and then all the S Series when they were combined. I only skipped the S25 Ultra.
I traded in my S24 Ultra for the S26 Ultra. The S26 Ultra is absolutely a BEAST! This phone is so fast. The display is absolutely gorgeous. Of course the privacy screen washes out the colors a bit. That's going to be expected. But you get amazing privacy, especially on full.
The cameras are fantastic too. They take such good videos and photos. You don't need a dedicated camera with this. I'm still figuring out the best settings and ive had my S26U for just over 2 weeks. They are beautiful shots.
The battery life is definitely better than the previous phones. And I can usually get about 15+ hours of semi heavy use.
The phone seems very durable and I love how thin it is. The phone is just a power house. It's so snappy. I highly, highly recommend the Galaxy S26.
A few things I wish were different. Samsung, PLEASE bring back the Bluetooth S-Pen. That's is a huge feature, and I would say 90%+ use the Bluetooth S-Pen for taking pictures and videos. That was what stopped me from upgrading from the S24U to the S25U.
This phone does have more rounded corners. It's a huge difference between the S24 and S26. Personally I love the corners on the S25U. It's a perfect balance between.
Also, please bring back the smart view cases. Ive seen tons of people who want them back. Every Galaxy phone I've had has had a S-View case. They are amazing.
Lastly, can we please get an upgraded battery with the S27? Even a 5000mah with the newer battery tech would do. Or higher than 5000mah. That would be great. The S Ultra series are for those of us who love using our phones for productivity, games, movies, etc. A bigger or better battery would be amazing.
Overall, if you're wanting a new phone. The GALAXY Series is where it's at. Especially the S26 Ultra. Hands down the best phone ever!!!

Bring Back Expandable Storage!
on March 24, 2026

The Galaxy S26 Ultra continues Samsung’s long-standing tradition of delivering what is arguably the benchmark Android flagship. From the moment you pick it up, it feels like a device that represents the cutting edge—refined design, a stunning display, top-tier performance, and a stunning camera system. In many ways, this is the phone that other Android manufacturers still measure themselves against. Performance is, as expected, exceptional. Samsung’s display technology is once again a highlight—bright, sharp, and incredibly smooth. The camera system continues to impress, offering versatility that few competitors can match. However, as great as the S26 Ultra is, it’s impossible to ignore the features that have been stripped away over time—and that’s where this review takes a more critical turn. The removal of the Bluetooth functionality from the S Pen is a noticeable downgrade. What was once a uniquely powerful tool for remote control gestures and camera functions has been reduced to a more basic stylus experience. For a device that still markets the S Pen as a defining feature, this feels like a step backward. The absence of an IR blaster is another missed opportunity. While not everyone used it, it added a layer of utility that made the phone more versatile. Its removal continues the trend of smartphones becoming less capable in niche yet meaningful ways. Most importantly, the lack of expandable storage remains a major disappointment. For a phone that positions itself as the ultimate productivity and media device, removing microSD support limits flexibility. Power users, content creators, and anyone dealing with large files are now forced to rely on expensive internal storage upgrades or cloud solutions. It’s a decision that prioritizes simplicity and profit over user choice, and it undermines what used to be one of Samsung’s biggest advantages over the competition. In the end, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is still an outstanding smartphone. It excels in performance, display quality, and camera capabilities, and it remains a leader in the Android space. But it’s also a reminder of how much functionality has been lost along the way. Samsung has proven it can build the best Android phone on the market. Now it needs to remember what made it the best in the first place—features that gave users freedom and control. Bring back expandable storage.
