Samsung S26 Ultra: Major Battery Drain & Power Sav
on March 15, 2026
Posted by: Ali1983
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am extremely disappointed with the battery life on my new S26 Ultra. Even with Power Saving mode turned ON, I am having to recharge the device 3 times a day. I expected the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Elite to be more efficient, but the drain is worse than my old phone. The phone seems to lose significant charge even when idling in my pocket. Power Saving mode doesn’t seem to be throttling background apps or the refresh rate properly. I suspect the new Privacy Display pixels or the high brightness (2,600 nits) are the main culprits. I have already tried a factory reset and software updates, but nothing has fixed the 3-charge-per-day issue. Compared to reviews claiming 9+ hours of Screen-On Time, my unit is performing significantly below average. This feels like a Day 1 software bug or a defective batch of batteries. Has anyone else found a fix for this, or is anyone else seeing this same rapid drain?

S26 Ultra is a great upgrade from S24 Ultra

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the screen on the new Galaxy S26 Ultra! It is clear with vibrant colors. The privacy feature has been a great addition when entering passwords, sensitive information, and viewing banking information. Love the thought of using it on flights and the person next to me cannot see what I'm watching/doing.
The new AI software has been a great addition to suggesting new settings to only allow necessary notifications instead of every alert from all apps. Using AI to search for products from a screenshot and editing photos have always been great and continue to be.
Overall, I am very happy with the S26 Ultra as an upgrade from the S24 Ultra.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This phone is a beast, it has everything you could wish for a phone, it's not the best on everything but it excels on most and have it all. This phone is amazing. The AI is better than in any other phone in the market so far, non of the others come even close. In other words, it doesn't stop amazing me. Design, quality, innovation, features, it's good on everything. This is a great everyday companion.

Small upgrades for a big win!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Long lasting battery, great screen, and amazing camera! This phone highlights what Samsung does best, small incremental upgrades that add up over time. The wider apertures on this phone make a big difference in overall photography. This phone is very capable in low-light and the video recording is a massive step up from its predecessors. The display is great, typical of Samsung. The anti-reflective coating and high peak brightness make it a breeze to use the phone in bright environments. With no battery saving settings it will last the whole day or more with lots of screen-on time and background media playing. The Galaxy AI features are nice but could use minor improvements. I expect Samsung will continue to iterate on useful AI features on their phones and continue to allow users to easily control their privacy with AI. I'm looking forward to keeping this phone for a few years, and great work Samsung!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved my Galaxy S23 Ultra, when fully charged it lasted more then a day and half without recharging. Camera and other features were excellant. One day it fell and cracked the screen. So i got S26Ultra. Regarding Galaxy S26Ultra, its not much of an upgrade from S23Ultra, except it comes with Chalk full of AI features. The battery when fully charged doesn't even last a whole day with regular usuage.

This product is mind blowing!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is an absolute powerhouse that finally makes mobile AI feel like a helpful assistant rather than a collection of gimmicks. The new Galaxy AI "Agentic" features are the standout, especially the predictive "Now Nudge" and a revamped Bixby that can handle complex, multi-step tasks across different apps just by asking. Beyond the smarts, the hardware is top-tier; the world’s first built-in Privacy Display is a total game-changer for keeping prying eyes off your screen in public, and the wider f/1.4 aperture on the 200MP camera makes low-light photos look incredibly professional. It’s slimmer, lighter, and faster than ever, making it easily the most refined and "intuitive" phone Samsung has ever released.
