This set was very fun to build. The minifigure, and the amount of them, are great. Really appreciate the chamber of secrets area very cool with great accessories. This was genuinely one of the most interesting and enjoyable builds I’ve done. Highly recommend in general and certainly for the Hogwarts castle.
Excellent set. Very detailed. Easy to build. Great minifigures galore. If a change for the better could have been done, it’s the parts used to connect the bridge
Had a great time putting the new castle complete set together! I think the details are amazing and I hope they continue to come out with other builds for this set. Clock tower, astronomy, maybe a quidditch field.
If you've already bought the other parts of this castle, it stands to reason that you will buy this set no matter what the reviews say; it is a necessary part of the castle and does look great. My problem with the set stems from two things. The first is the splitting up the build into ten different books so people can build together. This would be one thing (still bad) if it was just the books, but it carries over into the build. The actual structure seems weak because the castle is split up into seven different segments atop the rock. The columns could be single pieces but instead are half pieces to make this work. This also leaves the girls' bathroom with no door. Good set design should come first and it didn't in this case. The second is a symptom of this whole iteration of Hogwarts. The connections between castle segments are poor. If you attach the Hospital Wing where they say to, it doesn't fit well with the Main Tower. There is a gap and the Ravenclaw common room has a window into the Gryffindor one. There would still be a gap if you moved that to the side of the East Wing. Also, the main bridge here works, but the small one is big and clunky in that you can't even fit minifigures through the door and the under side doesn't match. Another major gap is the space between the Great Hall and the Main Tower. These aren't a reason to not get these sets, as this truly is the best Hogwarts Lego has done, but it just seems like the most detailed Hogwarts ever is missing some very obvious details.
As it stands, this was my least favorite of all of the main castle parts. The minifigures are great, though, and I hope this iteration continues beyond this.
Great set, except for the 10 different direction booklets!!! I think that for the price of these sets, the buyer should have the option if they want 1 instruction book, or 10 like in this set.
Excellencio! This is probably my favorite out of the current modular Hogwarts castle sets. A really fun build with lots of lovely scenes throughout and a great selection of mini figures. I really hope there's going to be at least one more set to round out the castle because I'll be really sad when this series is over. I've had so much fun building them all for my kids
Its the final part of my Hogwarts expansion, and although it was a bit expensive, it has so many amazing features and looks great on the rest of the expansion.
