Encouraged lots of additional play after the build

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son enjoyed the LEGO Pokémon Charmander and Geodude's Cavern Clash. The cave theme makes a great little setting for imaginative Pokémon battles, and the movable characters are adorable. The action features were the best part for him. Geodude can actually send pieces flying, which of course my eight year old loves, and the break-apart rock and hidden crystal gave him something to actively do with the set once he was finished building it. It's a relatively small set, but there is a surprising amount of play packed into it. A great addition to the other LEGO Pokémon SMART Play sets! He mixed this with a couple of the other Pokémon sets for a mega melee.

So fun but wish all had smart bricks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this in exchange for my honest review. I love Lego brand because the booklets are so incredibly detailed and have easy to folllow instructions. I love that the Legos are in recycled packaging as well and no plastics. Very conscientious and eco friendly. My son and I had so much fun building this. We found that this didn’t come with the smart bricks and only certain builds came with them so I went searching how to get more and is unfortunate to find you can’t buy just smart bricks themselves. You can only purchase them through the bigger and more expensive builds. So if you get this smaller build you can’t experience the interactive capabilities that they can use when paired with the smart bricks. Still very fun but I think they all should have them or you should be able to purchase separately so all characters can have one.

Thank you for sharing your building experience with us and we're so glad to hear you and your son had fun building your set. You're correct, SMART Bricks only come with the All-in-one sets as these sets are a great starter for all Pokémon Trainers with everything, they need to begin their journey. You can then expand your play by adding SMART Brick compatible sets and recruit new Pokémon to your team! Find out more over at LEGO.build/PokemonLineup.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 12 year old quickly put this set together in far less than an hour. She loves the figures. This set does not include the smart brick but we already have one from a previous set. Overall great set!
