I like the hardware, seems durable and has a good battery. The software needs some work. Automatic activity tracking specifically seems to add too many activities and doesn't differentiate what they are in a meaningful way like if you manually start tracking an activity. Getting to 100 exertion is too easy, like my last workout was +143 exertion points, doesn't have much benefit if it is stuck at 100 as a max. Hopefully they keep working on the software, it's great to not pay a subscription.
I've been a Whoop customer for years so I had high expectations. I received the Helio strap at the Hyrox World Championships, so I decided to give it a test run, while still wearing the Whoop. To my surprise, the data was near identical and the Helio strap actually had a few features I preferred - primarily the BioCharge feature. This is incredible for truly understanding how my body is recovering and functioning throughout the entire day, through hard training sessions, stressful moments in the day, or by adding in some recovery/breathing sessions. I've since paired this with the Balance 2 and loving the combination! The only area I really see a big opportunity for improvement with this device is when it comes to sleep - the score can sometimes be slightly elevated, due to the strap not picking up moments of "awake time" throughout the night as accurately. I trust the Amazfit team will continue to make these improvements over time and I'm in as a long-term customer!
I wanted to get away from wearing a smartwatch constantly (I needed to detox a bit) and wanted something sleek but powerful to wear 24/7 to continue tracking my metrics. I have had Amazfit devices in the past, but had most recently been using the Pixel Watch lineup (1, 2 and 3). I love the depth of information that Zepp provides over Fitbit, and I have especially been loving the new Biocharge feature. I also haven't had an Amazfit devices since Aura was a feature, and I've been finding the Aura AI Personalized Music incredible for relaxing and falling asleep.
It’s light weight and comfortable to wear. I’ve used Garmin before and the data is pretty accurate with the Helio strap. I like it because it’s screen less and lets me focus more on my workout.
