Not worth 500 bucks. This monetized world has sucked the fun from life. And until Lego goes back to delivering with UPS versus Amazon; I'mma spam over 100 sets with mediocre 3 star reviews.
This was a fun and challenging build. The finished car looks great. I love the way the rear hatch works; when opened the doors and front hood open. There were several mistakes in the instructions but the were pretty obvious and did not delay me.
1) Confusing instructions and disappointing print quality - added the image from the instruction booklet.
Step 719, sub-step 3 should indicate **22**, but the instruction booklet shows **21**. This is unnecessarily confusing. Granted, a beginner probably isn't going to start their LEGO journey with one of these monster sets, but even for experienced builders, the instructions need to be precise—especially on a build this complex.
For a premium set of this scale, I expected much better quality control. The instructions should be completely unambiguous, and the printing throughout both instruction books should be cleaner and sharper. Unfortunately, I found the overall print quality below the standard I would expect from a set in this price range.
2) Stickers for the headlights? Really?
This was probably my biggest disappointment. **Headlight stickers on a set at this price point?
For a premium display model, the headlights are a prominent visual detail, and using stickers simply doesn't do the finished model justice. At this price, I expected a more refined solution—ideally printed elements or properly constructed headlight details.
The sticker treatment makes what should be a premium feature feel like a compromise, and I was heavily disappointed by LEGO's choice here.
As someone who has built all the larger Technic cars, I do love how this one took it up a level. The only complaint I have is the headlights. All the other cars have lights that had to be built. The Koenigsegg has printed "sticker" like headlights. Sounds picky, but for an avid builder, that was the only disappointment in this build. Other than that, what an awesome car!
If you are looking for a challenging build, this one is perfect! I loved the complexity of the build. Everything fit together so perfectly when done right. Everything was printed so no stickers, and the information in the build book was fascinating. I am not a gear head, just someone who enjoys builds with lots of complexity and movement and this one fit the bill (and my husband loves displaying it and showing it to his friends.)
Having built all five of the LEGO Technic 1:8 supercars, I can honestly say the Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear has been my favorite build so far. From the very first stages, the chassis/gearbox felt incredibly solid, and that feeling only grew as the model came together. It was one of those builds where every section just clicked into place and made you appreciate the engineering behind it.
I really enjoyed the new elements and fresh building techniques LEGO introduced. They kept the build interesting without taking away from what makes these flagship Technic cars so enjoyable. By the time I finished, I found myself wishing there was more to build. That’s always the sign of a great set.
For any longtime Technic fan, this one is an easy recommendation. In my opinion, LEGO has set a new benchmark for the 1:8 supercar series.
My experience with the set was great this will be my first big car Lego set and it’s my dream car too but if you are not used to being technical and taking your time with Lego sets you will go a bit crazy trying back track especially when building the transmission but it’s a wonderful set a must buy for car and Lego enthusiast
