My Electrolux Washer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far so good. Overall seems like a winner. I was surprised how little water it uses to clean our laundry. Challenged it with some bigger loads already with multiple blankets and sheet sets. Sometimes the buttons seem hard to press and not sure about long term durability, but we will see in time. My first Electrolux appliance, but hopefully if this lasts not the last.

So Far, So Good!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My old washer died. It was a Samsung. I had been happy with it. I was going to buy another Samsung. I selected a Samsung and started reading reviews. The reviews on the model I was considering were not particularly good. By the way, I am an avid review reader and reviews are a significant part of my decision-making process. Also, please know this - whether or not my review says I received some type of compensation (because there's some contest involved, apparently, to get people to write a review), I did NOT receive any compensation to write this review, and I won't even read reviews that say the reviewer was compensated. I only want the opinions of people who bought a product I am considering, and who voluntarily reviewed it. After reading many, many reviews of the Samsung I was considering, I instead researched this product and decided to go with Electrolux. This is my first Electrolux. That frankly makes me nervous. This is an unknown manufacturer to me. That said, I went nine days without a washing machine between the time my old one died and this Electrolux was delivered. As you can imagine, as soon as the machine was in place, I started washing clothes like a mad woman. The machine seems sturdy, is fairly quiet, and has a lot of features - but not dumb features I wouldn't use. Stupid features on appliances are a lot like wood inlay in cars - they serve no point and unnecessarily kill a tree. Dumb features on appliances are just more buttons you don't use that will eventually fail. So far, I've used just about every setting, and I find a valid use for every setting. I like the machine; I like the color and, at this point, I feel it is well-built and will last.

Electrolux experience

Seems To Do The Job Well

I was going to purchase either another LG washer (would have been my third) or a Samsung, but I was surprised at the less than spectacular reviews on the models I was interested in. I noticed that there was an Electrolux washer on the appliance store's website which was on sale; it was only priced a bit higher than the other brands I had been looking at. The reviews convinced me to buy it.
A bit of an adjustment for me, as the Electrolux is a front loader, and my most recent machine was a top loader (seriously considering the pedestal!). Also, the model I chose does not have as many wash options as my previous machine, so there was a learning curve, regarding which cycle to use.
However, the settings are pretty simple and straightforward, and are definitely adequate for my everyday washing. No problem there.
The unit seems very solid, with a stainless steel tub, and is doing a very good job of getting our clothes clean; it is quiet, yet efficient.
One issue I have- which is minor, and not much of an issue- the chime which indicates that the load is done is very soft... our machine is in the basement, and I often cannot hear it. There does not seem to be any setting that would make it louder.
The Use & Care Manual that covers this machine covers four different series of machines, so it took a bit more time for me to figure out which series my machine was, and what applied to it. Also, I could not find anything that explained what benefit the "Perfect Steam" option provided, other than adding on 20 minutes of tumbling in steam... I need to look into that further!
Most important to me is the feeling that I have chosen a product that will remain trouble-free, and will give me clean clothes for many years!
