Great lighting and inside space

We bought this to replace a 16 year old GE Energy Star Side by Side. We love the finger-proof exterior and the beautiful rear, full-length light panel. The latter makes it so easy to see contents. It's also so nice to have shelves that are flush with all 3 walls - our old one didn't do this.
So far, we like the unit, but wish it had at least one more drawer in both the freezer and main unit like our old one did. And it seems to produce ice slower but since there are only 2 of us, it looks like it will suffice. Lastly, it is not Energy Star rated, so it is 20% less efficient than our last one, which is a shame One would think since 16 years have passed advancements in cooling and insulation would have made this refrigerator even more efficient.

Awesome refrigerator

I have owned GE appliances since I built my first house in 1970. It is my go to brand. I had no expectations when I went to my local appliance store. I only told the salesman that it had to be GE. He walked me over to this refrigerator and I said "sold"! We just love this refrigerator. It has lots of room in both the freezer and refrigerator and the back lighting makes it easy to see what is in the back of the refrigerator. The water and ice features are touch sensitive. You barely have to touch the surface and you get what you select.

The water compartment does not have a tray and therefore water pools.the ice cubes just shoot out and some fall on floor. Needs to be streamlined.

Very pleased with the new refrigerator-love the extra space with the curved door feature & thinner separation between the side by side refrigerator and the freezer.
-Not sure why there is no catch tray in the water dispenser but love the tall opening for taller glasses and bottles
-love the complete compartment LED lighting since the drawers are so deep

Large capacity, excellent build

My wife and I love this fridge. We had a different brand side by side in the past and it was terrible. This fridge exceeded all our expectations and then some. First, the size of this thing is HUGE. It fits all our stuff very well and then some. We have a CAFE brand in our other kitchen, let’s just say if this matched the color it would be switched tomorrow. The rear wall backlight, go ahead and pay the extra money, it makes a big difference with not losing stuff in the back of this monster of a fridge. Would recommend this to anyone and the price point is great. GE installers were great as well. Very nice, prompt and cleaned up.

Ice Maker problem

Love the fridge and freezer great lighting but the ice machine keeps freezes up where the ice goes into to be dispense ice. I tried all that I can think of to do but it just keeps freezes up and no ice comes out. We have to chip away the solid ice to get it to work. Even after that the ice machine takes time to dispense ice. Trying to get help with this is a nightmare. Called over and over trying to talk to someone live is very difficult. Just tried to add picture of problem but for some reason or another it will not allow me to do.
