Fine for the money, but frustrating out of the box

Overall, this OmniBook X 17 is a perfectly fine desktop replacement for my aging HP Envy 17, giving me a huge workspace and plenty of speed for the price. However, a few baffling hardware choices made getting it set up for my desk a lot more frustrating than it needed to be.
Pros.
Massive Screen: The 17.3-inch touchscreen provides a crisp, bright, and expansive display that makes daily use incredibly comfortable.
Top-Tier Performance: The Intel Core Ultra 7 paired with 32GB of RAM is exceptionally snappy and ensures the machine has plenty of power to last me for years.
Build Quality: The chassis feels premium and sturdy, exactly what you want from a permanent desk machine.
Cons.
Zero Storage Expansion: Despite the massive 17-inch chassis, there is no secondary M.2 PCIe slot to add a second drive. I had to shrink the C: partition to carve out a D: drive on the factory SSD for my files.
Annoying "Wall Wart" Charger: HP ditched the traditional inline laptop power cord for a bulky 100W GaN charger with fixed, folding prongs. It plugs directly into the wall and doesn't accept a standard extension cord. I had to buy a third-party Belkin brick just to comfortably reach my desk.
Windows 11 Overhead: The new OS feels artificially slower than Windows 10 out of the box. File Explorer has noticeable UI lag, which masks how fast the underlying hardware actually is.
Final Verdict.
If you need a powerful, large-screen laptop and don't mind tinkering with partitions or buying an aftermarket charger for a proper desk setup, the OmniBook X is a solid value. Just be prepared to make some compromises on expandability and accessories that you didn't have to make on older HP models.
