Effective & Powerful, but Not Durable.

Powerful and effective, but it is not durable for a steam mop. For all the non-mop uses like steaming garments to release wrinkles or using the attachments to clean counter tops or kitchen stove tops, it works very well. As others note, however, the steam mop function, while effective, requires the user to apply pressure and motion. The mop pole is not built strong enough for that kind of weekly action. Within the first year, the extension wand gave away and had a jiggle to it. By year, three of using it once a week, it snapped off. Obviously, I still liked it enough to use it weekly for for three years, but it needs to be more durable for floor steam mopping.

This would be my third steamer. My house has travertine floors and granite counters and there's nothing better than steam to clean them. My others steamers were different brands but I have some experience with this kind of appliance. It works fine, definitely is an upgrade for my last one! The idea of having the little accessories in that compartment is genius! (I lost a couple of accessories from my last one!!) But who had the stupid idea of putting a trigger when you already have a pause button???? My hand gets tired and I keep loosing grip on that thing! I hope you fix that for next one! Because I really think is a big flaw!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'd give it 3.5 score but it's not possible to select half a star. This is my first steam mop so wasn't sure what to expect. I was so used to clean with water, soap and disinfectant, so it felt a bit strange at first. I'd say the steam seem to clean the floor and surfaces pretty good.You expect the temperature will leave them disinfected too. I bought it mainly to clean the kitchen grout which was quite stained after a couple of years. It takes some effort but it seems that eventually it does the job. I won't do the whole kitchen in one shot but clean a section every cleaning cycle. Posted pics before and after one cleaning cycle. Lighting was different when took the pictures but you can see the difference on contrast between the tile and grout. Pros: - Seems to clean well - Appears to be very good built - The surface tool is nice to clean counter tops - Nice set of additional tools - Good to be able to clean walls and vertical surfaces - Long cord (good/not so good - see cons below) Cons: - It is too heavy so for longer periods of cleaning your arm/hands get really tired. - Not the most comfortable handle to manage - For the same reason, having to keep the trigger pushed to get steam out is very inconvenient. After a while you can just hold it anymore - The grout tool wears off to quick - Long cord. There's no place to store the cord so you need one hand on the handle/trigger and the other to hold the cord. It is uncomfortable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The mop works well on floors, but... I purchased this model because I wanted the lift-off handheld steamer. Unfortunately, I can't use the handheld steamer in some of the ways I was hoping. It was shortsighted to design this (or purchase it) without a hose connection for attachments. It does not come with a hose connection, and one is not available for purchase as an accessory. It's fine for easily accessible surfaces. Its lack of flexibility makes it challenging for cleaning the bathtub (see pic) and nearly impossible to maneuver over the entire surfaces to clean the kitchen and bathroom sinks. I've had the attachment come off of the steamer a couple of times trying to get the sinks cleaned. I'm feeling quite a bit of buyer remorse and wish I hadn't missed the return window. I wish I'd purchased the Bissell PowerFresh Lift-Off Pet Steam Mop, Steamer, Tile, Bathroom, Hard Wood Floor Cleaner or the Shark Lift-Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very great at cleaning and sanitizing floors and countertops

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I typically use this to clean my tile floors and it does a great job. The only drawback is having to hold the trigger button to release steam. I can do it, but would prefer there would be an always on switch or lock so I wouldn't have to press the switch the entire time. I also used this just recently to clean calcium off my granite countertops near where a faucet comes out and it was great at helping remove the calcium buildup. It still required some elbow grease, but nothing else has been able to get it this clean.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seriously... this is a dynamo when it comes to making the wood and tile floors throughout our home squeaky clean (and, yes I do mean SQUEAKY!) We've been in our home for eight years and the floors have never looked better! I also used the grout attachment to clean the white grout in my entryway tile (what was I thinking having white grout at the front door entrance?!) It did an amazing job and brought up all the dirt making the grout white again. I can't wait to use the steamer on my queen sized duvet cover which comes out of the dryer wrinkled and is a bear to iron. Why, oh why, didn't I know about this steam mop sooner??

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this item to reduce cleaning appliances taking up room in our over crowded apartment (for floors and bathroom primarily). I was initially impressed but that soon faded. The pod is really too heavy to scrub with despite the handy grout tool (Really needs a flexible extension hose so you can rest it while scrubbing). In addition my heads are twisting off mid use and while in use and while cleaning a surface one of my attachments cracked where it connects.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
