Door Closure Requires Attention

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This freezer replaced a 16 yr old Frigidaire that I loved. I have had the freezer for 4 weeks and already had an incident that required throwing the entire contents of food in the garbage. The door does not close like a typical appliance door, it requires you to ensure the door is closed tightly every time the door is closed. The freezer is level and adjustments to the door do not alleviate the problem. I cannot recommend this model due to the fact that the risk of leaving the door open accidently is relatively high. There is an alarm on the door however it does not sound quickly enough to alert you before leaving the area. Also, typically freezers are located in an area away from the general living area (i.e., garage, basement) of hearing distance for the alarm.

I've had the first Frigidaire upright since 2007 and it's going strong. I also like this freezer because it's easy to see what you have in it.
