I can’t think of a more critical item of gear if you’re running or hiking off the grid. The voice feature is excellent and doesn’t require the level of effort to send important updates like typing does.

Off Grid Necessity

went on a charter and lost an engine about 150 miles offshore. The crew had comms but none of us did. I bought this for the next trip and never lost communication and could share our track with family and friends. Absolute necessity if you are going where there is no cell phone range.

I bought this to have for a long 2 week solo motorcycle ride out west. Kids were worried about me, no coverage in area on phone, etc. They tracked my whole trip. Was great being able to text them through this in areas of no coverage. Also great to know if something did happen i could hit the SOS button too.

Great but do not use for primary navigation

Amazing Device with all the major upgrades from the previous models. The only thing I have a gripe with is the navigation. Some of Garmin watches have robust navigation and couldn't see why they couldn't do the same with the in Reach mini 3+ with the price you pay.
