An amazing but flawed piece of glass - just don't look for perfection.

This is a quirky lens that frankly, won't be for everyone. I personally like something that has a little imperfection to it - call it character or whatever you want, there's something about this lens where you won't get the cleanest image but it will be sharp! The 1.2 aperture is the standout here - you're going to be able to isolate your subject or shoot in low light with ease though the AF may not be as accurate in low light. In fact, the AF is not nearly as fast I as would normally prefer, especially since the majority of my lenses are L-Series, which have amazing AF. Took off one star due to the slower AF but this is such a cool lens. If you're looking for a unique look, this is the one to get!

The quality is excellent!!! The price is unbelievable for this type of lens. This 1.2 is a must have if u don’t the L versions(50mm).

destroy the background on a budget

This lens is great for the price. it allows for tremendous creativity for a hobbyist who likes or doesn't care about some aberrations. auto focus is fast and precise even at f1.2; you can make your subject pop out from a messy background... This lens is the only reason I switched from Nikon to Canon.. Zero regrets. (Sorry Nikon I'm a Canon Boy now)
