New smell is TERRIBLE

Tide ruined a perfectly good product that had been used by my family for 40 years by changing the smell to the overbearing disgusting flowery smell and not warning its customers that Original is NOT actually original anymore. What a cop out! Also mountain spring is not the old scent and can’t be found anywhere in liquid form. MAJOR FAIL Tide! Stop losing all your customers and go back to the TRUE original scent before you changed it to this disgusting mess!

OLFACTORY OBJECTION

I have been a loyal Tide user for many years; however, this recent iteration has an unpleasant fragrance. It seems as though detergents have recently become overpoweringly fragrant. I enjoy a subtle clean fragrance and may need to look elsewhere. Overall a good performer as usual.

Disgusting Scent Change

I don’t know whose idea it was to change the scent of Tide “Original,” but it doesn’t make sense on any level. The new scent is disgusting and I won’t be using Tide products anymore. So sad.

Tide is Great

I have been using Tide for many years. I disagree with all the comments that indicates that the smell is bad. For me it smells great and my clothes is nice and clean.

NOT original anymore

The original is not the original. We buy in bulk, and only recently found out that the original is now a putrid smelling waste of my money. Even our kids won't wear clothes washed in this stuff it smells horrible, even at half the recommended amount. Good luck finding the mountain spring scent, which they say is what the re-labled what had been original since 1984. Lost a family with 6 kids thanks to your perceived need to change what was working for millions of people.

Hideous

Depended on it all my life, but now it smells horrible, broke me out in hives, and I cannot use it anymore. Afraid to purchase any other Tide products. So, sad ... I loved this stuff.

Isn't the original scent anymore

Recently purchased original scent just to find out the scent has changed and it is not pleasant and way overpowering now. Was able to do some searches online to find out the true original scent is now called Mountain Spring, however it's been impossible to find this scent anywhere. Please make Mountain Spring easier to find?

Unbelievably Hideous Overpowering Fragrance

What happened to Tide? The new formula which was developed about two years ago is literally one of the worst things I have ever smelled in my life. It’s a breathtakingly bad blast of persistent fragrance that lingers in clothes even after you’ve washed them a dozen times, for months after you’ve put them in a drawer, and gets all over everything they touch, leaving a heinous smell residue. I don’t even know how a chemical so potent and enduring can exist. Whatever new formulation they’re using should be criminalized. I can smell Tide wafting through my neighborhood, and wafting from people coated in Tide-washed clothing literally 25 feet away from me. It’s everywhere and it’s awful. Whatever focus group okayed this was crazy. Read all of the other reviews. Tide took a mild scent they used for 30 years and replaced it with something so shockingly intense, disgusting, and long-lasting it literally makes people sick. You have to wonder what types of chemicals they’re using in order to get the smell to be so intense and so enduring. Very scary stuff, folks.
