Damaged my ceiling after 30 hours on the ceiling

I bought this to protect my ceiling from paint and now it is damaged around the entire room. I pulled off the tape 30 hours after painting and as the tape came off so did the ceiling. It also pulled pieces of the paint off as well. The first picture shows the ceiling damage and the second shows the tape after removal which all the white you see is my ceiling not paint.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very pleased with the ease in using this tape. It left clean, crisp lines and I will definitely recommend it to my family and friends! I have already started another paint project in my guest bathroom and have it all taped up.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using Scotch Edge-Lock #2093 for some time. Also have used the #2090. Both are great for any masking job. Unlike regular masking tape, The Scotch Edge-Lock tapes performance is outstanding. I remember the first time I used the tape and was amazed at the outcome. I felt like a pro!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just recently decided to paint a frame, mat, and background for my family pictures. My house is very open, and because of this is painted a universal pale beige. When we had our family pictures taken and framed, I lived in a different house, so they were all framed in white. They were great against a medium jade wall, and popped beautifully. White frames against the current house walls looked awful, hence my decision to paint a frame for them. I marked off the areas to be framed with your tape, pressed the tape into the textures as hard as I could, then painted a brown frame, and a background color. The result is a rather uniform fuzzy edge all around the pictures. It's kind of like an eye test, if you squint. After I finished it and pulled the tape off, at first I was disappointed - then the result began to grow on me. Now I like it, but if I had known beforehand, I think I would have spackled the texture out of the frame, then used the tape. I could send you a picture if you want - it is kind of interesting.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product does NOT perform like it is advertised!I spent an extra 2 days repainting and fixing the mess it made of my project.I would not recommend this product as the commercial is very misleading to people who have not experienced a mess from using this product like I have.I invested alot of time and money just to have it ruined from this lousy tape.
Has a lot of curl coming off the roll. Seems to have going on correct amount of adhesive. However after it was painted on its' personalty changed to just plain awful.. It came off in pieces. Which makes for a lot of paint going underneath the finger nail to pick it off the work. The adhesive coming off was 2 to 3 times more sticky. It has ruined a couple of the windows that had filter film on them by lifting off the working part of the filter. There was NO NO NO Warning on what NOT to use it on. I will tell every body that 3M and this product needs to go back to R & D. This has firmed up my mind to not buy anymore of an kind of 3M tapes. Highly over priced for a poor quality tape.
We used the tape to mask off a sink counter and bathroom vent as well as woodwork that had been varnished around a window. When we removed the tape, it lifted the paint removing chunks of paint down to the drywall. It lifted parts of the polyureathane on the window woodwork. We are still trying to figure out how to repair the damage.
