Off with the paint

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had never used tape before, have always used an edging tool. My daughter insisted I try it to speed paint process....it will now take longer to patch all the places where the tape pulled off the paint and pulled off the finish on cabinets and woodwork. What a pain. I will stick with the edging tool! Yes I waited till paint was good and dry!

Damaged ceiling

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tape damaged about 95% of the ceiling which I taped to protect while I was painting the walls. Now I have to free-hand repaint the ceiling around the edges. If I wanted to do this, I wouldn't have bought this tape in the first place. The tape bled around most of the edges as well. I am very disappointed and angry.

Terrible; Do NOT recommend!

I had my house professionally painted approximately 2.5 years ago (including all of the trim which was beautifully painted). We decided to change the wall color and put down the painters tape on the painted trim. After the painting was complete, we began to pull off the painters tape only to discover that it was PULLING OFF THE PAINT ON THE TRIM. Now a simple DIY project has turned into a nightmare for this mom-to-be. WILL NEVER RECOMMEND!

Disappointed

Have used other 3M Blue tape products in the past with much success. Purchased the "Edge-Lock" version for my current house painting project and am finding that whatever "Edge-Lock" is supposed to be or do, it isn't working. I have taped baseboard with it and by the time I get finished going around the room, it is peeling off behind me. The baseboard was clean and dry when the application was made. I am going back to using the older version of the blue tape.

This product has NO STICKING POWER

I am remodeling my kitchen and painting the trim on my porch. The blue painters tape used in my kitchen stuck so that after then paint dried and I pulled off the tape, off came the paint in sheets. So now I am repainting the trim on my porch. Home Depot offers a new Scotch Blue painters tape with Edge Lock Protection. I am up early to prep, mask off the entire porch and as I am proceeding to the next wall, down comes the tape. I am using masking tape to hold up the painters tape. This tape has no sticking power and costs about $2.00 more. Weather conditions are perfect. Not too cold and not too hot or damp. I am sorely disappointed in this product. after Ran to Home Depot to buy painter's tape. I experienced this non-stick with two roles of this tape. I can honestly say DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT!!! This is NOT Edge-Lock Tape at all

This called "Edge Lock tape" is not working at all. The truth is out there, just reference my photos.It is easy to see the tape is not sticky to the wall and lift off by itself. The only thing I would like to say to your quality department is : Please focus on your product quality and reliability. If the qualification results can not meet your production specification, please stop calling "Edge-Lock"
