No matter what I do this piece of junk will not lie flat on the carpet which is a low pyle berber carpet. Somebody decided to roll the thing up the wrong way and I had to lay 50lb salt bags on it for 48 hrs to try to flatten it out! It is now in front of my desk and the edges are curled up so bad that both my wife and i HAVE TRIPPED ON IT. If I were Staples I would be ashamed to say that I sold this to anybody. I don't have the carton to send this thing back otherwise it would have already been on its way.
As others noted the mat is not very thick. Its better than no mat but if I wanted it to last for years I would ahead & spend more. We are changing flooring in 9 months so I will invest in different mat then.
I read the description very carefully and though our office carpet is Low Pile I purchased this chair mat for Medium Pile. This is aligned with the recommendation from the brand in the pictures that you buy the next thickness up if you work 8 or more hours. I just got it a couple of hours ago so only time will tell but so far I love it. I no longer have to struggle to roll around my desk area. My chair wheels are making little dents in the mat but they haven't prevented my chair from rolling smoothly and they go away when I'm not in that spot anymore. I have included pictures of the minor dents as well as one of the whole mat and how the clear color blends in with the carpet.
office chair location is on a carpeted floor. the carpeted floor needed protection from the wheels and weight of my new office chair. this mat stays in place in the carpet and does exactly what it was meant to do. protects the carpet and makes the moving of the chair easy and smooth.
