We've had the chairmat about two weeks. It is on berber carpet and has worked fine. We've had a couple of small indentations from the chair wheels but haven't had any problem rolling the chair.
While I have a different Staples mat at my computer I purchased this one for use at my sewing desk. As the item description says it works best on an unpadded commercial carpet. While it is a little light weight for where I have it it is providing adequate protection for my carpet.
Purchased this chairmat to replace a perfectly good one which I had but chair rollers dented (settled into) the mat making rolling difficult. The replacement which I paid two and half times more for offered not better support for the chair wheels on the same carpet. The carpet is a dense weave and should have been o.k. for the "plush" model chairmat.
I will use this mat a lot. It is a replacement and will be used at my computer desk and I spend several hours there every day. The mat makes it easier for me to move my chair. At 75 I am not as agile as I once was and I need all the help I can get. This mat does not seem to be quite as large or as good a quality as the first one and of course the price had more than doubled. Signs of the times.
WHEN i SAW 1.3 " i CERTAINL DID NOT EXPECT IT TO INCLUDE THE SPIKES. Most carpet mats are rigid and do not indent when parked. This mat is for thin rug and padding. You know it!
