This was a replacement of a similar mat which finally broke down after many many years of use.

Definitely not for regular carpet.

I bought this to use in my home office however I do not have commercial carpet (the low flat carpet with no plush or nap). I have a low shag and my chair immediately warped the mat. I am only 145 lbs so it's not a tremendous amount of pressure but now I have a roller coaster under my chair. I have to use my legs to try to launch myself up the hill it's created.

Its great to roll back and forth easlily. Without all that hard pushing back on shag carpet.

A little on the soft side

I wanted a new mat that would be easy to roll on and specifically chose this one because of it stating Berber carpets which I have. However it's no better than what I had and not worth the extra money. I wanted something hard and using this mat I sink into it after sitting a few minutes. It will probably start cracking or getting holes in it in a several months like the previous one did.
