I've purchased 2-3 of these mats before and for some reason this one will not stay in place and I constantly have to realign it! the carpet is the same as the last one I had. what gives?

I bought this chair mat as a replacement for another that I had purchased from Staples. The prior mat lasted about two years. That's about all I expect out of this one. It needs to be a bit thicker as it develops indentations where the chair wheels tend to come to rest. This leads to the chair wheels rolling to the same spot and eventually cracking and failure of the mat.
