My laser printer calls for the premium heavier weight paper. We use about 20 cases a month of this quality and it works just fine. Using this versus the heavier weight saves us hundreds of dollars each month.

Staples usually have great deals on their cases of multipurpose paper. I use coupons when I purchase paper for the office and I usually pay very little.
