Looking for a chair mat that would work on berber carpet. Everything was way too expensive except this one. So far it has held up to me moving aound quite well. The real test will come in the coming months. Will it crack chip or split? Hopefully not. It is quite resilient. Indentations show immediately after use but soon return to being close to flat leaving no real noticeable trace of where I or anyone else might have been sitting for hours. I would have given it a higher rating but time will tell how it holds up. So far so good!
Although it has nubbies to supposedly grip the carpet it still slides on carpet and bunches up against anything solid. Then it is difficult to get it to lay flat again unless you put something very heavy on it for several days. Maybe if the nubbies were larger or longer to grab the carpet better it might make a difference.
I ordered and received the Staples Low Pile Carpet Chair Mat lip 36x48. This is the first time I have been disappointed with Staples. The mat was not packaged in any way and one corner was broken. The delivery man called to get directions to our home and it's a good thing he did. We live in a remote area in a gated community which is difficult to find so we met him at a different location to save him time and effort. I immediately noticed the broken mat but decided to keep it rather than inconvenience the driver who seemed a bit put out. All delivery vehicles need to be equipped with a GPS and arrangements made with our development to get an access code. This delivery was not made by UPS or Fedex but appeared to be an independent service which would explain the difficulty of the delivery.
Tongue size not listed on the measurements for this item. Too much movement with the movement of chair. The securing "blocks" do not seem to grab and hold at all. It's better than having nothing for the price.
